Neither Coca-Cola or soda in general bring to mind an image of eco-friendliness or healthy living. But now Coca-Cola is introducing a new line of pop to its Coke family that is meant to have a minimal environmental impact and be healthier as a result

I think we might be better off using the glass bottle. For those few that do not remember, we paid a tiny deposit and turned in the empty bottle for a return of the deposit. That's a darn good way to get those bottles turned in and really recycled. Coke as a healthy product? Just how is corn syrup healthy? I figure Coke will be around for a long time, but people could stop making it a part of daily life. Red label or green it is still Coke.

I'm sure some people will have a problem with Coke using sugar and stevia ~ but those folks probably don't drink Coke anyway ~ and the plant-based bottle is only marginally better than traditional plastic. But for the average American consumer it's still an improvement ~ and those folks are not going to stop drinking Coke.

I remember picking up bottles for return. It was a way to make a few extra bucks in the summer time. I don't drink soda at all or fruit drinks unless I make them.

Drinks always taste better to me coming from
a glass bottle as well. Haven't had a soda
now since early December of last year. Don't
actually miss it.

Thank you. The easiest way not to drink coke is not to start drinking it.

Glass bottles is the way to go with a returnable. This way the landfills won't be filled up for millions of years. I stopped drinking Coke a long time ago.

I don't trust anything brought to the market big companies like Coca-Cola. It's all self-serving and PR-driven. It'll increase their sales (again) and let their customers lull themselves to sleep, thinking they've done their bit for the environment now, while the effect is only marginal.
