Very interesting article. Apparently the bear cans work and the bears do not try to get into them. Peole need to secure their food when hiking/camping in bear country.

I remember raccoons as big a Dobermans getting into our stuff in Allegany Park in New York. My mother signed the flashlight on them. They looked back at her as if to say, "Thanks for the light lady." No fear or respect whatsoever!

We as a people, really have no respect for the property of others. I know I should respond to these great cans, but, I just can't get over thoughtless people.

These sound like a great idea. Leave it to humans to try and screw it up.

These food cans are very valuable in preventing bear encounters, but in Denali you have more than just your food supplies to worry about.

Fascinating article. I think that I will camp somewhere without grizzlies around...black bears are a wee bit more mellow but still they do love their food if someone gets careless!

Good idea but how many people will go out of their way to use them. I'm guessing very few.

Noted, tweeted, shared, tweeted, shared, read article. Interesting to know that there are always some humans who can't follow the rules or use good sense in using a product the way it is supposed to be used.
