Charles one day claimed our house, stating that it was now his home. We loved him for it.

I remember the first one, don't we all remember our first encounter with one who loves without judgement?

Simon was mostly white but he had big tabby striped patches on his face, ears, legs, and back. He liked to sleep in my doll bed. He hated to be dressed up and put in the baby carriage.

I remember her; my mother was ambivalent about a cat, though she liked them, but my father found a litter of Persian kittens, let me choose one myself-I was five and this was a long time ago. She and my dog were the center of my world for almost 19 years. I miss them to this day.

I found him in the bushes and allowed him to adopt me. I called him Igor. He liked to like the inside of my ear when I was sleeping.

GAAAAAAAAAH!

We were sitting by a coffee table outside that we were going to buy and a "tuxedo" kitten jumped onto the top of the table and slide right into our hearts. We brought him home with the table. We named him Maxwell Edison and he liked eating spiders. He enriched our lives for almost 19 years. He will always be with us in spirit.

They let me name him and didn't mention he was a boy - so he was Tina. After the song.

Charles looks just like my Spanky. He's gone 7 years,, and like Heather, wrote, I still miss him.
He would wake me up by licking my eyelids. I woke up smiling for 15 years.

A little stray kitty had her two tiny kittens under our front porch. MommaKitty met a sad fate and two of us kids crawled in and got the kittens. Putz (the smaller boy) and Schwartz (the black boy). Boy, did that start a trend..............

Do I ever! He was a big brown tabby, and his name was Purry. He came from the farm next to us, and he was my believed pet when I was a mere child. But in those days--the early 40's, we didn't know about neutering and spaying, and he eventually left us for greener pastures. I think it was through him that I realized I was a cat person and have been all my life. May God rest the souls of all the kitties I've had throughout these mega years!

I could never forget Newton. We found each other on Halloween night. He was about 5 wks. old. We lived together thru' thick and thin for 18 yrs. He was grey and white, smart as a whip and blessed with a keen sense of humour. I mourned his passing deeply, but I feel his spirit is still with me.

Woolly! (I thought he'd play with wool - he never did.) I was three, and my dad and I went to choose him from a litter of kittens - he was the one who came up to us. He was ginger, with a tail like a carrot. We travelled back home on the bus, with Woolly in my anorak hood.

Absolutely and her name was Kuger! My friend and I found Kuger-a black kitty very cold starving and flea ridden in an abandoned barn in the country and brought her home! She's in kitty heaven now but I miss her still. Love you Kuger...

Absolutely yes, his name was Jack, he was not much friendly but when he died I cried a lot. My family decided to take a cat at home after two dogs so was really strange to have a feline around also because they are completely different, we had to learn about his behaviour and personality, this was an important experience also for the others cats that I had after. I love you Jack, Coda and Miný............

My first cat was Tom Tom. he was a red Tabby. I was very young maybe 6, I would dress him in doll clothes and he loved it. He would let me put him in my doll carriage and take him for walks. He never complained, he even use to purr. I loved taking him to bed and we would sleep together. He sadly was killed by a car. As I remember he snuck out and my Mother, who was quite ill with Leukemia tried not to tell me, but of course I missed my best friend. I got a puppy in his place and we played hide and seek. I would build a hut a sheet over two chairs and I would hide inside and Blacky ( my puppy not never original but I was little) would come and find me and than he would hide. He was a lot of fun. I loved animals before I could even walk, so I have been told many times by relatives.

Shawnee was the name of my first cat. I grew up in a family that hated cats (for no reason) and taught us kids to hate cats. I got my first cat when I was 33 and was totally amazed at how much personality this cat had. I actually had a mouse in my apartment of which I am deathly afraid. I went outside to find a cat to bring into the apartment, and could not find one, which was very strange as there was always cats around the apratment complex. I went to the shelter and got a kitten, and I was totally smitten with this cat, and have had cats ever since. Moral of the story - never let others opinions influence you. You might be missing out on some wonderful experiences and love.

My first kitty was already named and I didn't change it. Buffington Fowlfellow was a big male orange tabby cat who was king of his territory. I called him Buffy for short. I miss him to this day. Now I have a 6 year old, Fiona Faith Marie, who is a 12 + pound orange tabby and Ms. Fee Marie is an avid bird watcher at our sliding glass door. She also loves to watch the squirrels and chipmunks too. She is the younger sister to my Ms. Jessica Faith Kristina who is 13 and having health issues. Living my life with animals is enriched beyond measure. They give us so much and I can't imagine my life without my furry family.
