It happened six years ago, but I still replay it, trying to learn what I could've done differently.

One day I stopped on the side of the road because it was time for my 8 pounds dog to go to the the toilet... And I was looking around and heard someone screaming something and I noticed two very large dogs running towards me very fast like they have seen a prey or something. They guy was screaming at them to come back home. I ran to my dog and picked him up because I knew it was because they had seen him! I didn't have the time to enter my jeep and the dogs reached us. They jumped on me and scratched me but at the end they didn't seem to be very bad dogs. I know my little dog and how he gets very angry and always tries to bite other dogs that he don't know. That's why I never let him near most dogs. But that day I didn't have a leash and maybe if my dog saw the other dogs before I did he would've probably ran to them, and who knows what could've happened if the other two dogs attacked mine. My dog is always staying by my side with no leash but that day I realized how much having a leash is important.
Sorry for my english btw, I hope it's not too bad. : )

I was walking my 80 lb Akita one day and a much larger male Akita that was off leash in NYC came charging at her. The next thing I knew, they were on their hind legs growling and biting at each other. I grabbed my dog's collar to pull her back and I screamed at the owner to get her dog away from mine. By the time she was able to get her dog by the collar there was blood all over my dog's mouth.

The woman started to run away with her dog and I went after her. My screaming at her sent her running into a store incorrectly thinking I would back off. I just followed her into the store and went off on her. I could have strangled her right in the store. It ended up that the blood on my dog's mouth belonged to her dog. My dog was unscathed. I have never seen her walking her dog again (I told her if I ever saw her again with that dog off his leash I would kick her ass).

Why would someone let such a small child walk such a large dog?

Some dog owners are just so irresponsible.

I did jump in and saved my dog from the other dog that attacked it, and I got a really big bite on my leg, but well worth it!

I don't have a dog but would jump in if one of my cats was being attacked, especially from a dog. I've taken on a coyote and great horned owl, saving a cat. I didn't feel the danger to myself until the preditor was chased away then I realized what could have happened. Actually I thought the coyote was a dog (it was dark out) until he retreated and I saw the tail, then I knew it was a coyote.
