A young Pit Bull found in Massachusetts suffered unthinkable abuse, and the public is understandably outraged.

Poor little fella. What a horrible and short life he led because of some heartless and ruthless subhuman being. The perpetrators should suffer a long life behind bars, and hopefully their inmates will abuse them as badly or worse than they abused this innocent, precious little soul~Puppy Doe. My heart breaks to think of what this little fella must have endured and no one to help him. No punishment would be too harsh for this puppy's abusers. They should be arrested, convicted, and made to serve time in the penitentiary, be listed on an animal abuse/neglect/murder registry and never allowed to have another animal in their possession for the rest of their miserable, sorry lives. FIND THIS/THESE HORRIBLE MONSTERS AND PROSECUTE HIM/HER TO THE FULLEST EXTENT OF THE LAW!!!! AND DON'T STOP 'TIL YOU FIND THESE MONSTERS!!! THIS MUST STOP!!!!

When will they understand that abusing animals or people is the same. The people doing it are just as mentally ill!

I read about this yesterday and the sheer horror of the inhumanity just tripled my resolve to fight every case of animal abuse that I can uncover. Every petition will be signed, letters will be written, and every report of abuse that comes to the shelter will be investigated fully if I have to hire additional agents and pay their salaries myself.
These unthinkable atrocities have to stop!! And we all have to do all we can to stop them!

This was Not a one time thing...whoever did this HAS done it before, each time worse than what previously had been done. Someone out there knows about or suspects some friend, neighbor, coworker that abuses animals. Speak up, don't let abuse continue or escalate. This SOB won't stop unless forced to stop. The next one may be a child...

I agree that whoever did this isn't a first time offender. People who abuse animals in this manner are a danger to everyone else in their lives who might be vulnerable to them...children..elderly...etc. Being able to do this to an animal tells me that the individual is a psychopath who doesn't feel empathy. Scary.

The story of Puppy Doe has brought tears to my eyes so many times! How I wish I could turn the hands of the clock back and create such a different life for this dog! I hope, at least, that this tragedy of such magnitude will bring big changes! Hopefully, this case will step up penalties and will lead to an anonymous animal abuse hotline and create a statewide registry of convicted animal abusers not only in Massachusetts but in every state and a call to end the free exchange of animals- putting helpless animals into the hands of sadistic and depraved people!

"Online sites, posting ads for free cats or dogs, are the perfect feeding grounds for animal abusers looking to obtain their next victim. While the petition to Craigslist is one step, itís not a complete solution. The bigger issue is to raise public awareness on how to safely rehome an animal.
Halpin urges owners facing a rehoming issue to turn to trained professionals at shelters and rescues. These individuals will explore the petís medical and behavioral history, and do extensive background checking, to ensure a lasting, safe match.

Pet owners lack the skills and resources necessary to properly vet would-be adopters. The result could be the worst case scenario that is the Puppy Doe case,Ē he says."

Some days I can handle stories like this and then there are days like today that I can't bare hearing about the cruelty to animals. That doesn't mean it shouldn't be told in the memory of the the puppy whose life was lost. TY Cher Noted.

I've just to say thanks Cher because with your job you really help animals not only with petitions to sing but also bringing to our attention this type of unspeakable cruelty. I'm not ready to read anything about this, I cannot, but really THANKS AGAIN for all you are doing!!
