At what point does the government become accountable for its negligence, and sheer apathy? I think Zimbabwe reached this point. Whether its the WWF, the World Court, there has to come a time when a country can't keep crying "poachers".

Thats shocking and unforgiveable those poor elephants Someone out there is not doing enough just excuses being made and i dont understand why the UN cannot ban all the buying and selling of ivory everywhere
Someone has to get tough whether countries like it or not or else we definately wont have any tusked animals left
Dont here anything from organizations like CITES either The situation is getting desperate now and all anyone does is talk Wheres the action!

noted thanks

Put Cyanide in the water of the poachers and make them drink it, that way they will feel all the pain and suffering that those poor Elephants went through!

STOPPING the cyanide supply is the obvious solution. Also the reason behind the poachers actions needs to be addressed. No EASY task for either problems. These deaths are so heartbreaking to read about let alone to observe up close.

They need to stop supplying cyanide. I am glad they have stiff jail terms for the poachers. Too bad they don't have a death sentence. Just horrific.

A good idea to stop supplying cyanide as well as many other lethal agents. It is sad that so many elephants and even other animals died as a result of poaching these magnificent wild animals.

The poaching is terrible. I wonder how many of the poachers are themselves very poor and extremely desperate for some kind of income to feed their families. Maybe if they were offered jobs to protect the animals they wouldn't have to resort to killing them. The huge sum of money involved may be too much temptation for people struggling in such a poor part of the world, and the situation's only going to get worse with the increasing effects of climate change.

You want the truth? I'm tired to read this type of news, tired to say always the same and tired to see that who has the power to do something just wait till the time that the last elephant will be killed! I'm sick of it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This domino effect will decimate notonly the tusked animals, but all the scavengers that feed on the carcasses...then, there any other animals that drink the poisoned water. These people have to be stopped - Now. The laws have to be stiffer and the buyers need to be found and punished. By the time Zimbabwe gets its act together there will be no more wildlife alive there, this includes birds.

I am so sick of poachers getting away with murder. Maybe they should be fed a dose of cyanide and die the slow death which they inflict on these poor elephants
