Today Greenpeace is taking action to stop Harper's reckless plans to push tar sands pipelines to B.C.'s pristine coastline. Right now activists are blockading Kinder Morgan's tar sands facility near Vancouver and sending a strong message

Gladly signed. This is another case where some think it is okay to pollute and destroy the environment (on which we all depend). When are these people going to wake up? You can't eat money or breath it. And you definitely can't take it with you!

Last month I had the opportunity to see the oil sands for myself, including sneaking into one of the large projects in a truck. The drilling site is like a town, with an airfield and a population of over 3000 and an additional 5000 bussed in daily. On the return trip south i witnessed a steady stream of trucks bringing all sorts of massive equipment northward. Between the horrible destruction I saw and the obvious amount of construction planned it is very upsetting.Everyone involved is well aware of the ramifications of what they are doing but they are so blinded by their own greed that they refuse to see it.

Thank you for sending a message to Prime Minister Harper. We need to stop depending on oil! Pipelines by Enbridge and Kinder Morgan to the coastal waters of British Columbia must not be allowed. The Tanker traffic would be such, that they would be an environmental disaster waiting to happen. Greed in the oil sands of Ft, McMurray and of the Provincial and Federal Governments is sickening - it shows that they don't even care about the environment, the forests, animals and their habitats, fish, birds and the pollution of rivers in Northern Alberta.
Thank You Cher.

Good work Greenpeace. We can help also by using less oil. Go car-free if you can, and lobby your local officials for cycle paths. Cycling is a healthy, environmentally friendly way for people to commute reasonable distances.
