Not sure whether this was a good or bad thing - on the good side - no anesthetics, but on the bad - putting an endangered tiger in a giant machine...and will he eventually mate and help bring back the species. Augh, I'm always so conflicted on these. Thanks for the post Cher and Marie.

It is such a shame to see this beautiful Sumatran tiger in a zoo, however, if it means saving an endangered species, by mating them, to bring back the numbers, then it is what has to be done. Still don not Zoos.
Thank You Cher.

Thanks sweetie, you are so welcome.

These tigers are endangered, close to extinction, and in an ideal world, animals should be free to live in the wild, but, this can't happen, as are hunted, trapped, poached, etc, etc, etc.
Dudley Zoo is an amazing zoo, award winning, one of my favourites that I have visited on numerous occasions, it's sad that zoos are and not nearly as close as the tigers wild inhabitat, the Sumatran Tiger will be safe from poachers and harms way, and hopefully will breed to get this special breed's numbers up.
Good cause definately in my book!

Thanks hun! XxX

Let me educate you a little. LONG before animals are ''crated/moved''....they're taught to enter the crate willingly. Food is placed inside....often they're invited to sleep in the crate.

Nobody SHOVED the tiger into the crate and he was undoubtedly very familiar with it for weeks before he actually made the move.

An interesting point pam w, I am sure that a lot of people don't know that. Survival of these magnificent tigers is essential. It is difficult to imagine that perhaps one day there will be a world without these majestic Big Cats.

Agree with others that we need to have them in zoos and/or sanctuaries in ordr to save them...too bad this isn't a safe world for wildlife to be free.
