When wooden furniture loses its shine there are two options for every homeowner - you can either revive your furniture or you can cash-in on one of the most popular design styles, shabby chic.

Thank you for this interesting article. I have restored some furniture, and reupholstered some. I love doing it. My diningroom table is 100 years old, but looks like new, and then a lady gave me pieces of a cute occasional table, it was in a couple of paper bags. lol. I restored it and put it back together, etc. It is my favorite table, the carved design on it is beautiful. Go ahead, ladies, it is lots of fun and you will love how it turns out. I mixed colors of stain to come up with the exact color I wanted.

Thank you! I have my grandmothers bedroom furniture from her childhood, and husbands fathers dining room suite.

Thanks, Cher. Almost anyone can ''rescue'' a piece and bring it back to ''life.''

Thank You for the tips Cher.
Better to Upcycle than to buy new, as most older furniture is made much better.
