The picture, circulating on the Internet, shows three Syrian men surrounding the corpse of a lion, thought to be from a zoo close to the capital, Damascus.

Why aren't all those ''moderate Muslims'' sending food into Syria?

Why aren't the oil-soaked Arabs sending food into Syria?

War, declared or not, is a crisis. Most everyone human and creature suffers.

I agree with Pam. I said the same thing about many Middle East conflicts. Why are the wealthy ones feeding their own?

Thanks Cher. Food is getting into Syria; however the crisis there is so terrible that the aid cannot reach everyone. People are dying from starvation; and anyone who is in such a position would probably do the same. It just shows how terrible the situation is there for everyone, incl. babies/children, and the international community should act.

Seriously sucks! But desperate situations call for desperate measures. I can't pretend to be in a position to judge. SIGH! :-{

I agree with Natasha & Pam. I can't judge either, they are starving, very sad.

There is no excuse for killing a lion.

I guess if there is no food at all you would do something like this. Makes me mad. Thanks Cher.

I cannot make a judgement on starving people. I am not in favor of killing a lion, but, then again, I am not in their situation.

The picture says it all. I am not in favor of killing lions, but then I am not in there position and I am not starving.

Cannibalism took place during WW2 also. I belve it was in Germany after the Russians invaded (documentary on WW2).Many suicides, rapes. Just something that people are reluctant to talk about.
re the killing of the lion, hopefully it was humanely (ie: quickly)killed, unlike what usually happens to factory farmed animals in America.
