In the last five to ten years an industry that had almost entirely disappeared has resurfaced and is revolutionizing the way people in the city think about food, the way farmers think about growing, and hopefully the way we think about public space.

Love the atmosphere of Farmers Markets - and of course getting to know the farmers and knowing where fresh food is coming from is great.By buying local we are giving farmers the rights and the means to grow a richer variety of crops. In return, consumers benefit from nutritious produce and healthier lifestyles.
Thanks for this article Cher.

Very lucky to live in the country where we buy right from the farms or at the farmer's market. With our short growing season and harsh winters canning, freezing, and preserving is a must. Unless you want to drive 50mi to the supermarket for extravagantly priced wilted veggies.
