i probably don't like playing favorites, esp. not with living things or species

and "maybe facing extinction anytime soon" == certainly facing extinction if humankind doesn't get it's act together (kinda fast)
More Tigers now live in Captivity in [U$]America than Globally in the Wild
14.07.2010 on C2NN :
" The wild tiger population dropped 96% in the last twenty years from 100,000 to the estimated 3,200 still left in the wild today."

Wild Tigers May Be Extinct by 2022
Their extinction is triggered by massive illegal tradings...

South Chinese tiger - 'functionally extinct'

Too damn bloody many human beings! Will we be the last species to go extinct or dare I hope we'll be gone soon enough for the planet to revive?

If we don't take better care of this planet, this planet will take care of us. And we won't stand a chance.

This is happening - BUT should never have been allowed to happen. Man's greed and enchroaching on animals habitats has done it. I can't think of a world without the Lions & Tigers. Very sadly noted.
Thank You Cher.

I'm typing through tears This should not be happening or have even gotten close to happening. The pic of the lion is heartbreaking I am rooting for the beast of Bodmin. Mother Earth will make humans pay for what we have done to her skin and her children

It's not just disastrous for the cat lovers but the stability of our ecosystem
