and while you guys are at it why not investigate dog bites on postal workers and dog bite awareness.
i would never be a mail carrier in rural and semi urban areas. the horrors those guys go thru is off the charts.

I am not a violent person, in fact I abhor violence but if I caught anyone using pepper spray on my dog they would, in pretty short order, become very familiar with how it felt to be sprayed!

how many times would this person be allowed to do this and what harm is she going to cause to the dogs over time No one should be allowed to do this if you cant deliver mail then surely it should be left at the depot and tell them why it cannot be delivered let them take it up with the owners as this is animal abuse

I remember doing a paper round as a child and having trouble with badly trained dogs. However, in this instance, it does sound as if the owners had made every effort to keep their animals in order. Signed - thanks, Cher.

Noted and signed - surely he must come round again and when he does he needs to be nabbed and have the same done to him. Make sure you empty the canister on him - he might just understand then what pain he inflicted upon these poor dogs.

Sadly, many postal workers in the South Los Angeles area are going through crime-ridden, high stress jobs and become just plain angry and mean. There was always the option to simply refuse to deliver the mail, and compel the family to rent a PO Box if the mailman felt it were dangerous. This guy needs to lose his job and do community service at a shelter.

If this is an issue with postal workers, that they are attacked by dogs, then maybe another way to deliver mail is called for.
pepper spraying is NOT the answer.

Action completed.....This happened to me but not a postal work....it was a meter man who worked for "big corp electric.....he jumped our fence and my sweet departed Saffron barked at him....he immediately pepper sprayed her...I witnessed this through my kitchen window and went after the guy.....he said that he had to read a meter next door and had no access.....really? I contacted the Electric Company and said this behavior is not acceptable and I will write a letter to the editor if something was not done about it. Bottom line.....it never happened again. Thanks for sharing.
