THE cold and rugged mountains of Pakistan, Afghanistan, Tajikistan and China seem an unlikely place to find a flourishing combination of new community institutions and international diplomacy.

There is not a place on the planet, were the animals are safe from the wrath of man, such a sad thing,if this keeps on there wont be any thing left alive...

Noted. The only way anything is going to be saved anywhere is for local individuals to start doing the work themselves, rather than waiting for the unknown and mythological "someone" else to do so. If enough local people come together in any given place, amazing things can happen!

Whenever I read that China and Pakistan are working towards a solution, it just fills me with doubt.

Sad to think that animals aren't safe on Earth, like Mike mentioned in his comment. They have just as much right to be here as every human being. Thanks Cher

Noted. Great article on the elusive snow leopards.Encroachment on their habitats, dwindling numbers of prey, poverty in the villages could promote poachers, and also villagers killing them for attacking their animals. For a long time they were having a hard time even tracking the snow leopards. I hope something can be done!
Thanks Cher.

Wonderful to hear that there are efforts to help preserve these magnificent Snow Leopards and various other species. May they long survive.
