Frustratingly little information on how this poor mite was in such a state in a wildlife refuge centre -
It sounds like the centre should be investigated for not doing their work properly, since "researchers" found him. There is something very wrong behind this story -

Noted. So sad that even the rescuers can be evil. I agree with Evelyn, some holes in this story.

I'm in agreement with Evelyn. I'm glad there was a rescue but this is not right at all. Awe a week old. Breaks my heart.

I wish all wildlife was left alone. Animals really get abused and everything under the sun and they didn't to be born and are very inncoent. of course we cannot get near most and shouldn't. They should be left alone to simply live. You run out of things to say after so many years.

Why do so many of you LEAP to make judgments on the staff of this facility? If the mother abandoned the baby, she may have acted completely on instinct. And if that baby was hidden, why would you all just ASSUME humans even knew about the birth?

Sheesh.

I think someone killed the mother, that is why the baby was found alone.

Such a cute panther kitten. I am so happy they found him in the nick of time, but I do feel sad that he will never live free, having not learned any survivor skills in the wild being so young.
Thanks Cher.

Thank you for the good news, but I hate to think of what happened to its mother.

That poor sweet thing-doomed to a life in captivity now.. just 1 pound weight, so they must have found it rather soon after birth, no clue why it was abandoned..
