A brand new policy in the Archdiocese of Cincinnati says you can not only be fired for being lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender (LGBT), but even just for supporting equality. That means even taking this action could be grounds for dismissal.

Wow! The petition itself was invasive! I signed but Catholics do what they do. If you don't want to be one you should not go to their churches, schools, or work for them.

Some people say they don't agree with the Church's position but they also think people that don't agree with the Church should simply not go or be Catholic. Let's remember that while the teachers have a choice, the kids are not given a choice. They go where their parents send them.

Thank you for sending your letter Archbishop Schnurr. Please take a moment to spread the word about the discriminatory policies against LGBT Catholic teachers and straight allies, and encourage your friends and family to sign the letter too.

Signed! The bloody hypocrisy of the whole thing is enough to make one gag. Someone needs to remind the Archbishop that he's treading enthusiastically in the judgment zone and should look at the sins of his organization before tossing around stones and threats like this. Then again it's unlikely Jesus Himself could shame them.

I've been signing petitions from them for quite awhile and the questions at the end are optional. I don't think they want to share the information with the intended petition recipients but are trying to keep a record of where their support is coming from. The more heterosexual people who are on team equal human rights for the GLBTQ community the more they and we know that the tide of hatred is turning no matter what the very vocal haters say.
