Earlier this week, Southern Ontario in Canada and Western New York in the States were hit with snowstorms which blanketed each.

Just because the calendar says something, that doesn't mean Mother Nature is obliged to go along with it. Back on May 29, 1986, the Central Alberta region of the Canadian Prairies had a blizzard that dumped so much snow on us, the city was shut down for 3 days from power outages, and it took over a week to clean up the snow after that. It was COLD. My family was lucky; we had candles and a propane stove, so we had light and hot food. Others weren't as lucky (ie. they were unprepared).

Ever since then, I personally have not counted spring as actually here until June 1 (assuming the snow's gone). So get over it, people - this really isn't a big deal.

Last week we only had a couple small patches of snow and now we are back up there. Last night we got about 10 inches. Personally, I'm going to enjoy Spring when it really is here to stay this year. :)

Here in southern Sweden, spring is a month earlier than usual, no snow in the winter and lots of sun. Wonderful.

Love is in the air

Yes, it's incredible. I've some American Friends and Canadian in here that are telling me about this. Here in the north east of Italy we had a 'warm' winter and we are having a strange spring some days are really hot with temperatures more higher than normal and some others pretty much cold, tomorrow and on Easter the forecast said that we wil have a little bit of rain. Thanks for sharing Cher.

Thanks Cher and Inge for the news I am in the south and on that map of the world the jet stream has covered my state of N.C. We had snow just last week and I am going out on a limb here but I believe we will have another snow before the month of April is over. The Calendar says spring yet where I am I'm not so sure:)

Living in North Central Alberta, I never count on really good weather until after the first full moon in June, for planting. We have minus zero and snow right now. I feel very badly for the people in Eastern Canadian provinces that are flooding right now.!!
Thanks Cher,.

There are a lot of changes in our weather; more frequent super storms, dry in usual wet places and wet in dry places, cooler temps in warm places and warmer in cold places, etc.. We need to do everything we can to reduce green house gas emisions.
