Following the news that almond crops are killing thousands of bees in California, the Bulletin of Insectology released a report that names pesticides as the driving cause of these mass bee deaths. It has long been known that pesticides play a role in

Our bees are in serious trouble! Unfortunately, the more we breed, the more we eat, the more we farm...
I understand the neonics are in the news right now, but I do wish these types of articles would also touch on the organic pesticides in use. Several of the most heavily used are extremely toxic to bees.
Yes, kids, I'm sorry but organic farmers DO use pesticides and it's not highly regulated.

The mass killing of bees in the US is due first of all to Monsanto!

What part of the facts that Bees are good for our Planet, doesn't these fools that make or use these pesticides, don't they understand. I wish I could get them in a trance and teach them. Thanks Cher

This is very worrying, but if they've identified the cause, something can be done about it. Has the UK Government banned the use of these yet??

Noted. No surprise. Any farmer can track whenever pesticides are sprayed the loss of all insects, not just the bad ones. I had a HUGE fight with my local utility company about not coming on my property to spray. Goes on every year, when they don't even come here to fix the lines most of the time. I think that the stress of moving bees all over the country also plays a factor. We're going to have to do a LOT of backyard hives to help them come back.

MonSATAN and DOW really are doing such enourmous damage worldwide. These horror show companies know exactly the damage they are causing, remember agent orange? Yet to this day no one has held these companies liable. Bees are such a huge part of plants being able to reproduce so that we can eat, yet they bees are being destroyed. Sheer madness, all for the $$$$$$$'s today and screw mankind 30 to 40 years down the road.

I live in Montana and I still do not like those little signs that say do not walk on grass...that means chemicals.....you would think we could find a safer way to protect everyone.

While these pesticides are no doubt noxious, the true culprit may lie elsewhere. Bees are dying thousands of miles into the wilderness far from any pesticide influence. Geoengineering may be to blame. Educate yourself and help put a stop to this travesty. http://www.geoengineeringwatch.org/no-bees-no-food-no-people/
