A number of bishops from the al-Hasaka district in eastern Syria have put forward a plea for the survival of 25,000 Christians, including Syriac Orthodox, Syriac Catholics, Chaldeans and Armenians, in this city, within which a number of evacuees have sought refuge from neighboring areas, as reported by the Vatican's Fides news agency on Thursday.

According to the agency, the testimonies cited by the bishops indicate "a number of roadblocks" on the roads, set up by armed groups, especially militiamen from the al-Nasrah Front. Add to that, they said, gangs are deliberately conducting robberies, kidnappings and attacks even within the city.

The agency additionally quoted one of the priests from al-Hasaka saying, "That every day around 3pm a type of curfew is applied, since armed groups are roaming the streets."

He also stressed that, "kidnapping operations are being conducted, accompanied at times by requests for the payment of ransoms, and in recent days, two brothers from the Bishr family and two youths from the Afram family were murdered in the street, and Christian youths are being threatened and are intimidated by terrorist acts."

On their part, several humanitarian organizations have announced that, "It is impossible to deliver aid to al-Hasaka, because it is very dangerous and also the minimum security requirements are unavailable."

I have no doubt that this news item will be bare of all of those who spend their time saying poor little Palestinians and poor little Muslims. That Palestinians suffer under the "care" of Muslim controlled countries is undeniable and ignored. That those that live in Gaza suffer because of the 2 terrorist groups that control the area is ignored whilst Israel is blamed for everything.

Yet, had this story been about Muslims being attacked by Christians the world would be screaming out in indignation. Yet the Christian suffering in Syria has not been reported in the news nor have the abuses in Mali yet the Jewish population in France is being attacked by Muslims because the French are going in to help. Makes sense, doesn't it?

Christian suffering due to Muslims is ignored continually and I have yet to hear why.

So where is Obama, Care2, Cameron, NATO, France and the so-called 'news' media??? If someone puts up a sign against 'honor killings' they all come out horrified that some Muslims might be offended, but none of them cares a whit about the ethnic cleansing of Christians, Buddhists, et al going on across the Muslim dominated lands every day right now. Hypocrites all of them.

These Islamist 'rebels' have made clear they want to cleanse Syria of all non-Muslims and create another glorious Sharia state in their march to conquer the whole world and force it under Islam's primitive laws, and look who supports them, just like who supported these thugs in taking over the so-called 'Arab Spring' revolutions and turning them into new Muslim conquests.

Obama praises 'moderate' Indonesia while there over 300 churches and untold Buddhist temples have been closed or destroyed and they are persecuted while this 'moderate' Muslim government makes muffled 'tut-tut' sounds but makes no effort to stop the pogrom against non=Muslims and non-Sunni Muslims.

The evil Saudis pull the strings and our 'leaders' and 'media' perform. There is no one there to protect us.

Weeks ago the Islamist rebels had driven out 90% of the Christians from Homs and no one cared. They could slaughter them all and no one would care about that either. If some one burns a Qur'an all our leaders and media (including Care2) scream with outrage, but where is the concern for real people, though, granted, they aren't Muslims, but surely there should be at least a pretence of caring, shouldn't there?

Where's the outrage?! I even got an urgent appeal from one of the main human rights groups about the terrible persecution of the Muslim tribe that has moved into Burma and has been persecuting the Buddhists for ages, now the Buddhists are fed up and are fighting back and who do the human rights people suddenly care about? Not the Buddhists. Not a word about all the persecution they have endured from these invading Muslims, nor for the Buddhists being ethnically cleansed systematically and discriminated against in SE Muslim ruled Bangladesh.

I'm sick of these whiny Muslims who are always 'victims' no matter what atrocities they are committing or to whom - it is they who are the victims even as they are sawing off the head of some infidel. Where is some one with the courage and conviction of a Churchill when we really need one?

Where is the outrage?!

Leftist websites like Care2, and Leftists, in general, are trying to demonize the Christians. What is happening is that a lot of innocent Christians in Islamic countries are facing annihilation and the West doesn't care, because the Left has convinced them that Christianity is as bad as Islam.

Islam is killing people all over the world, scores a day, with "Allahu Achbar"

ISLAM IS THE RELIGION OF MURDER

Noted, tweeted, read, tweeted, shared. When the Muslims do this, they are declaring war; even old "hippies' such as myself get outraged and want to stop them. In a sense, and I know this is unfair, they remind me of the GOP who can never compromise but always attack and expect everyone to accept their beliefs. Those in the Muslim community who are moderates better start controlling their nutcases or there will be all out war. It is possible even this country did it in World War II, when we put the Japanese in camps.

So, taking a little time out of their war with Assad, they show their true colors and go after other religions on the side. What a surprise. What I really want in Syria is that NONE of them take power, Assad should leave, the rebels should leave and it should become a protectorate of some kind, because anything else means only that the bloodshed will continue unabated. If the rebels win, they will purge the country of everyone who is not them violently, if Assad retains power, he will do the same. There is no win-win here, both sides are pure evil. I'd say they deserve each other but there are innocents caught in the middle who will be slaughtered by either side once they've become victors. Muslims don't celebrate victory with hugs and kisses in Times Square or parades, they celebrate it by killing everyone who is not them. Always, since this vile cult came into existence.

When will the world wake up to the filth that is Islam. To think that I had some sympathy for those that were rebelling against their government in this country, despite their affiliation with the filth I despise so much...... and then they go and show their true colors, only to terrorize those that are not a part of their evil and filthy faith.

Saudis sent their criminals sentenced to beheading to fight against Assad. Obama joined forces with Saudis.

This is exactly the same thing that Obama did with Egypt, Tunisia, Libya and almost the whole Middle East: he let Muslim Brotherhood people to have too much power in the White House.

obama and the libs will never speak against muslims. that's part of their voter base no matter how evil they are.
it's time to force the issue. keep shouting for obama and his fools to do something. muslims are evil and need to be locked away from all others. carve them out a hell hole and lock them in it. none come out only muslims go in.

Yes Gillian you are right we dont hear anything about this in the news but if muslims were being terroised it would be front page news with protests and probably gaol for the christians or worse
The muslims just want to take over the world and they are doing just that at the moment because no one cares or takes any notice and when they do it will be too late and when they end up with Sharia law it will be no good crying then they will probably just get decapitated but then their heads will be so deeply buried in the sand they wont have to worry about that
