The five Palestinian suspects arrested in connection with the rock attack that left three-year-old Adele Biton from the Yakir community in critical condition nearly one year ago, heard from Adele’s mother during their trial last Thursday, February 13.

In March 2013, Adele Biton was critically injured following a Palestinian rock attack on her mother’s car, which also moderately injured her two sisters, Avigail and Naama. Palestinians had hurled rocks at the family’s vehicle on Route 5 near the city of Ariel, causing the mother, Adva, to crash into an incoming truck.

Since the attack, Adele has been hospitalized and is now at the Loewenstein Hospital Rehabilitation Center in Ra’anana, where she remains unconscious to this day. Her third birthday was celebrated last year when she was in intensive care. Both her mother and father take turns spending every hour of the day at their daughter’s bedside.

Last week, Adele’s mother testified against the Palestinian assailants at the Megiddo military court. She spoke of the tragic consequences that the rock attack had on her family and on Adele, who was two-years-old at the time.

‎“To see a child connected to a million pipes is very difficult. Her life has been destroyed because of the rock throwing. It is difficult for me to cope with the fact that my daughter will be handicapped in every way because of such an act,” Adva Biton told the court. “All her joy, all her life was taken from her.”‎

Her mother further explained that Adele cannot laugh, eat, or do anything on her own. “It hurts me to see her confined to a wheelchair, not engaging with the world. It’s a daily trauma to see your child gasping with her head hanging down and you can’t do anything.”

“I am not home anymore, I am not available for my three kids,” said Adva, recounting the toll on her family. “I’m supposed to be a mother but I live in Levenstein Hospital. My husband has not really been home in over 10 months.”

Biton is fighting to keep her daughter’s story in the public consciousness, according to a report in Ma’ariv. She also aims to take Adele’s case to international courts as well.

According to the official blog of the Israel Defense Forces, Palestinians launched more than 2,400 rock throwing attacks at Israelis in 2013. Thirty percent were directed at civilian vehicles, and 116 civilians were injured because of these attacks.

The Palestinians that hurl these large rocks which are meant to kill and maim, are teenagers. Of course, if arrested then there is an outcry that Israel arrests children.

Now, I happen to know that America not only arrests little children, but keeps them in an adult prison without charge for years. So, before the usual anti-Semite brigade starts attacking Israel for trying to protect its people, you should look at the inhuman breach of child rights that goes on in your own system which is not intended to protect people but to force, illegally, a confession from a little abused child just to get a conviction. Or the abused and raped female victims sent to prison for life for protecting themselves? I can continue for pages on your system about which you are always singularly silent.

This is an example of the "rocks are safe" position that Jew-haters spew. If Jews were throwing rocks at Muslims, the world would be in an uproar. But when Palestinian "youth" throw rocks at Jews including civilians like this mother and her two daughters and especially the child, no one says anything. In fact, they do say something. They say "well, you have to understand that the Palestinians are so mad because the Jews stole their land." In other words, they defend Jew-hatred.

If we take the "poor Palestinans had their land stolen" argument to Saudi Arabia, where as even the Muslim sources proudly document that Jewish tribes were kicked out of or murdered in, then Jews have the "land stolen right" to throw rocks at Muslims in Medina. Would the world go for that? NO! This proves that there is racist anti-Jew sentiment globally, and as such, Jews cannot get a fair shake, especially as relates to the "Palestine" situation.

May God bless this little girl with recovery and give her mom the strength she needs in this situation.

If anyone believes that a large rock cannot seriously injure or even kill, they need to read this poor mother's testimony
.Perhaps the Israelis should start shooting rock-throwers on sight................... but we all know they won't.

There is so much hatred by some in this world it is pathetic! A rock is a weapon just as any other weapon and can kill just as easily! It's really sad to hear the Palestinians cry foul play from Israel and yet at the same time be throwing rocks at them! Unbelievable!

there are too many stories and images of hapless muslims being stoned to death for us to imagine that stones aren't intended here as lethal weapons. who among us hasn't been horrified by images of women in iran, for example, half buried in an arena, then killed by stones enthusiastically hurled by crowds of men.
