605 wolves have been slaughtered in the combined hunts since August 30, 2012. In 102 days or a little over three months. AND this is only December. Montana opens wolf trapping season on December 15. Petition links are on the right side of this web page.

I can hardly believe the numbers. 605 wolves have been slaughtered in the combined hunts since August 30, 2012. In 102 days or a little over three months, hundreds of wolves have been wiped out. Images of their mangled, bloodied bodies litter FB and hunting forums. The smiling, grinning wolf killers are gloating in their blood bath. AND this is only December. Montana opens wolf trapping season on December 15. The Colville Tribes in Washington state are hunting wolves on their reservation.

Seven collared wolves from Yellowstone National Park have been killed.

I'm already a member of this group. How do make more people understand the need to protect all of our top predators? Education and more education! If you see a site to protect one animal you are enhancing a full bio-ecology not just one type of animal. Think what this means to the survival of all living things.

How disgusting that they can still be killing so many of these creatures
They treat them like vermin in America How cruel are they to do this
and theres a typical picture of some macho idiot thinks people are going to look at him and say how great he is Well he is not He is just another stupid bloodthirsty male who cant find any other fun in his life apart from killing I hope what goes round comes round At the end of the day you have to blame the politicians of these states for not passing a law to stop this Wake up you people before you lose all the wolves Then you will really be crying WOLF

in 5 months 600 + wolves in a few states.... now there has been almost that many or more already killed in Canada already.... no national coverage...can not get a damn Television series to run it..we have at least 4 large blogs hitting 200,000 members and on small news stations, rallies every weekend... hooking up with the Keystone XL project to try to get some coverage on the Canandian Wolves, Now go blindsided in Wisconsin with the Tribal Landa and this Frackming... we need more ground forces...this is an all out WAR ON THE WOLES...and the wolves are LOSING... we have lost so many and protected a few... but no one in congress cares...they don't care about science, don't care about ecology.... the poachers have ALL the RIGHTS... there is 2 states that actually have any rules with protection..Oregon and California, and Cali won't have it fully in place until middle of next year...so the 1 wolf they have there ... we now can not allow anyone to know about because poachers want him dead so bad just to kill him... cat and mouse... it's gotten so far out of control... and no one besides the animal rights and now the orgs we have set up are helping.. thank you ROCK and everyone who posts any news about the wolves.... we need exposure! and the wolves need HELP!

Noted with absolute heartbreak - how is it possible that this cannot be stopped - where are all our troops to go in guns blazing and protect these defenceless beautiful animals. Can they not be taken away somewhere to a sanctuary and landmines put down so that when these callous vicious pieces of shit stalk these animals they will be blown to hell and gone. I don't care if I am never forgiven, but these bastards needs to be dropped down some active volcano - they can then feel horrendous pain and terror which is what they are going to feel anyway when they burn in hell! How do these callous deranged lunatics still walk this earth. I am so angry I could absolutely run amok.

For every action there is a reaction. According to the law of karma, if we cause pain and suffering to other living beings, we must endure pain and suffering in return, both individually and collectively. We reap what we sow, in this life and the next, for nature has her own justice. No one can escape the law of karma.

There is no excuse for murdering these beautiful animals. They are harming no one but doing what they do in nature. Hunters always claim to eat what they kill, so I saw this letter to the editor here about that asking if anyone of them had a good wolf recipe. Killing for killings sake, well, in my opinion that makes US the lesser of the two species. The days when we needed hunt for food are long behind most of us, killing is not and can never be called a "sport" I don't care how loud the NRA brays that it is. It's not, it never will be sporting to kill a defenseless creature by surprise. We're the savages not these noble creatures we kill for nothing more than bloodlust.

All who eat meat share in the responsibility of this. Cattle ranchers kill, kill, kill wolves and then show great disrespect for them by hanging them upside down, tossing their bodies over barbed wire fences, etc. Those who make heir livings off of the death of animals also continue to harass and murder the BISON, keep First Nations people and animals and water, land, sky in peril, corrupting FREEDOM and NATURE. This attitude that people have the right to take away rights of other beings and remove the processes that Nature created to sustain life on Earth is so anti-Spirit, so opposing that which all Spiritual Masters have followed and taught that it is appalling. Too many christians never do any research into the Truth, and are following the ways of murderers, oppressors, liars who drove underground the peaceful-non-interference, no-harm, vegetarian meditation, 3rd eye Logos practices by brutality, and then supplanted the truth with their own life style and power-seeking greedy flesh eating drives. How many people even know that Jesus and John the Baptize were vegetarians, and that all who followed them and were to be allowed to be initiated into the Light and Sound had to first meet the NO HARM CONDITION and eat only plant foods??? How many? I think 1% pay any attention to this, and now, look at what the filthy practice of killing and domination has done.Next, imagine this world had the true ways of PEACE never been usurped by the evil selfish ignorance that killing, controlling, twisting Creation to suit temporary greed occurred and spread globally. Water would be clean, poisons would not exist, wolf, buffalo, bee, prairie dog, human beings and all life forms would have avoided huge amounts of corruption, loss of freedoms, suffering and death.

I AM a Ground Force In this, I AM A WOLF ARMY SOLDIER, Stand Proud..Stand along Side and follow my Commander Sierra, Rox. She has a Force of very many of us out on the ground and we face these beings. I do not call them Humans, because they are hateful, mean, and wolf killers. Nothing about them is sporting, or about a "hunt" It is a thrill of a KILL and they are out to harm and be cruel, they take a wolf and torture them and do much worse. Hold them captive for many days and then sell them off to others with actual tags. Most do not even have to own tags if they are "trappers" it all goes under an incidental killing law. The numbers on the listing do not match. The 116 Killed does not mean how many have actually been slaughtered, it is only a reference point, there has been many many more murdered. Our team has rescued many that we will not discuss. But, we are out there. Peace

Bastards, I wish those pathetic excuses for human hunters bad karma in this and any future lives. May they come back as a hunted animal. I have signed many petitions but sadly, it doesn't seem to matter. The state wildlife management boards are following their masters, the ranchers and hunters, with no science to back up their witch hunt against wolves. It is shameful how many wolves have been directly killed and how many other types of wildlife may have been indirectly killed by these bastards. How can we stop the slaughter?? Petitions aren't cutting it, we must find another way.

I donate to Defenders of Wildlife, they are fighting this in the courts. I love wolves. They are family oriented in that they care for their young and hunt only for food. If the balance of nature wasn't constantly tampered with they would have enough to eat. But, Man in his ever increasing stupidity just has to meddle with Mama Nature and eliminate as "pests" all their food supply. Leave nature alone. Of course I signed angrily and called for Salazar's replacement.

I stated this before. Why were wolves reintroduced to these places if all they are going to do is kill them off, again ! This is barbaric thinking and as backwards as in the 1800's when they began killing them off the first time around.
One would have hope "these peoples" would have advanced in their thinking since then.

I once read a book titled Of Wolves And Men. It chronicled the old wolf hunts of not too long ago. The wolf hunts were finally ended because humans found out that they were wrong in what they were doing. The only species that works against nature is man. It's also patently clear that we don't learn from our past mistakes. We are again hunting wolves and it's sad that we kill what we fear and/or don't understand. Hunters? I don't think so. These are idiots who have free rein to go out and kill. Our so-called political leaders don't care about animals, ecosystems or the natural order of things. They care about money and what groups can line their pockets. The really sad thing is....how long do you think it will take all these idiots to realize they've made a huge mistake by delisting wolves? Then the cycle will begin again. The wolf will be reintroduced because, hey, the coyotes are now actually killing livestock and there are no longer any wolves to keep the coyotes in check. No, man doesn't seem to learn from past mistakes.

America's wolves are right now being persecuted, tortured and slaughtered due to extremely unjust and unethical actions by President Obama and Ken Salazar, his completely terrible Secretary of Interior. Many other federal and state Democratic and Republican 'leaders' are complicit in this unjustified, satanic attack on America's wolves. These 'leaders' have shamefully surrendered America's ecologically vital and beautiful wolves to a violent minority of ignorant and hateful cattle ranchers, sport killers and animal abusers.

Petition signed. I stand in support of positions stated here. However, I find moralistic interpretations to be counter-productive. There is no way to convince others of a need to change their actions by beginning your conversation with examples of how they lack your requisite moral standards. In general, the tendency to create moralistic fervor around these issues grinds down any efforts toward practical problem solving.
Similarly, I also find statements of dietary preferences to be lacking in direct pertinence to issue raised here. Why should my eating habits be judged because I do (or do not) support rights of animals to also stand as people on this planet? Considering the thousands of years that aboriginal & other native peoples subsisted on diets utilizing all resources available, I find the logic formulation within this argument to be problematic.

NMurder has and always will be a way of life for humans. From the days of Cain & Able onward. Serial killers, mass-murderer's,families murdering each other etc. The biggest difference now from 100 years ago is communication. Big jimbob just murdered d his nextdoor neighbor. Within 5 minutes the world will know because of the satalight feeds. We just hear about it quicker now. I was getting off work when the Trade Centers got hit and knew about it before I even had a chance to get out of the reastuaunt lobby. Immidiate info has changed everything, It isnt that more is happening even though it is more happening because there are more people but also because our ability to communicate has become extreamly sophisticated and FAST!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't stand to look at that picture. How many petitons do we have to sign before this ruthless killing of these beautiful animals stop? Salazar closes a small oyster factory in California that has been in exsistence for 80 years taking the jobs of 30 families yet sits on his ass while these wolves are being slaughtered. Salazar needs to go, where is that petition? I am so angry that ranchers and their lobbyists along with the NRA and their lobbyists are allowed to speak louder than the rest of us.

Noted. I have signed many petitions as have most of you protesting the murder of wolves. What or who actually started this blood lust for wolves? I have ideas but no proof.. However, when many of our political leaders in several states of both reining parties, de-listed wolves, the humans who love to kill, for any reason, moved in for the murders of wolves. Like a terrible murderous virus that has taken over human brains. No logic, no common sense, no hunger for food, just senseless human and techno armed scavengers going after those who can't protect themselves. Like an indoctrinated military given the go ahead to do any perceived enemy anything they want. Rape, mutilate, torture. Absolutely mentally sick humans, bordering on the evil that many religious organizations speak of.

This should be taken to the President of this country. Why? Our citizen killing actions of wolves, are no less and no more than those from world countries who also kill for the illogical, for the sake of killing. Not just for the wolves, but also as a predictor of the mentality of many U.S.A. citizens and this country's future. Frightening is an understatement and deserves attention from the leader of this country. Genocide/specieocide.

What GETS me is that "cheshire grin" on the face of the idiot holding up the dead wolf in the photo. He's obviously "proud" of his kill. What's to be proud of when one hunts an elusive animal with high powered weapons?

BTW, I posted an article in Care.2 about two weeks ago regarding the possibility of Salazar stepping down and two politicians from my state (both PRO-environmental Democrats) to replace him. My article never got more than a half dozen "notes" and only one comment. The biggest BOON to stopping these attacks on wildlife will be to replace Salazar. We need to go there before anything else!

Signed and Sign every like petition that I can. I write. I call.

This is what the deepest betrayal of Congress and political groups by singling out and allowing de-listing the wolves from the Endangered Species List for political posturing and favoring private and special interests over the will and wants of the taxpaying, voting, majority of American Citizens.

This betrayal is deepened further by Ken Salazar, as Secretary of the Interior, Salazar who is in charge of the National Park Service, the Bureau of Land Management, the United States Fish and Wildlife Service, the United States Geological Survey, the Bureau of Indian Affairs, and other federal agencies overseen by the Interior Department. He has done NOTHING to help our sentient wolves. Is is apparent that his view of "management" means killing while trampling the rights and/or culture of American Citizens as this takes place mostly on public lands or Native lands and Nations.

We are witnessing the basest human behavior at work. The most dangerous animals in the woods are the two legged ones smiling while holding up our majestic, beautiful wolf who was trying to live and feed and survive as we all are.

Our wolves, our majestic, iconic, natural wildlife that keeps nuisance species at bay, keeps disease down and tree defoliation from other species down living doing what they do naturally, where they live are being tortured and massacred with a zeal and sadistic blood lust and delight by humans that is sickening, despicable and indefensible.
These sentient beings, the ancestors of our present day beloved domesticated dogs, are being poisoned, trapped, maimed, aerially run down to exhaustion and shot, mothers and babies are slaughtered. They are cowards and bullies that shoot live beings caught in a trap, in misery, and use them for target practice. They lure mothers with recordings of pups who want to protect their young. They have night vision and superior fire power. This is NOT management. This is NOT hunting. It's NOT brave. This is NOT patriotic.

Wolves do what they do to survive. They want to be left alone and have nothing to do with humans. There are many groups working with enlightened ranchers or cattle and sheep that are working to coexist with our wildlife. It works. You need open minds and intelligence and a willingness to make new things work.

Salazar and his groups need to be dismantled and dispatched. We need new forward thinking people with new ways to work WITH our wildlife and FOR the people.

I am UNDERWHELMED with the lack of response of Our President and his administration in stopping this wholesale murder which is not only inhumane but against public policy with our tax dollars. We the people want this stopped NOW!

If you have men who will exclude any of God's creatures from the shelter of compassion and pity, you will have men who will deal likewise with their fellow men.

Why is mankind so cruel ... we never stop to think about anyone or anything other than ourselves, just because an animal can't speak doesn't give us the right to abuse them ..

All our comments here ... does the world get to see them ... because WE ALL believe in the same thing here, so instead of repeating ourselves to one another I hope these are seen by the eyes of the world!

It is not enough to understand the natural world. The point is to defend and preserve it.

The man in the picture is a low self-esteemed human that can only feel good about himself by hurting something..something that did not have an equal chance at winning...something that did not have a gun or rifle...something that was preyed upon with many high powered items - of that I am sure...something that was innocently gong about their own life...the man in the picture is a coward...chicken shit moron!

Please understand, the wolf population is approximately 4500 now which is 800% HIGHER than what was agreed to by ALL parties prior to the re-introduction of the gray wolf into areas where it had been long absent. Ecosystems can NOT sustain that type of shock and are in fact suffering tremendously, to the point where all wildlife, including the wolves, will soon suffer irreparably from an unbalanced ecosystem. Hunting the wolf is the ONLY way to manage it...period. There is no other way.
