A post on TomCat's blog. Three things this week which seem to me to command the attention of the Greek Furies.

I share your rage about child victims of parents Joanne--worthy candidates all. I'd like to add a requirement that elected officials must pass a civics test on the constitution before they can be sworn into office. Thanks again

Magaera: Aww...I hope that this little one will be all right. He certainly doesn't need to be living with this man, who lies, deceives, and incurs abuse on his own child. There's a special place in Hell for this man.

Alecto: I miss those conversations with my father, who discussed politics and civics at the dinner table, even at an early age. SHR rocks too!!

Tisiphone: Quite disturbing story, of abuse, glad that these two got 20 years, and hopefully this little boy will become well, physically/mentally after these years of abuse, as well as the other children in this house of horrors. I loathe abusers, who hurt other beings, humans or animals.

Furies, seek with vengeance, those who are needing your assistance!

Thanks, Joanne for post.

Megaera, please make sure that not only the one who brought charges against the father, Joanne, Pat and me, but also the judge believe this six-year-old child when he says his father deliberately burned him with a fireworks gun to get the poor kid to tell the dad where his mother was. The man needs a long time in behind bars to contemplate how he has scarred his son both physically and mentally for life.

Alecto: Joanne’s project for you will be a tough one as first you need to undo all the indoctrination, i.e. brainwashing, with Republican lies about the Constitution that both Republicans and Liberals have been subjected to. Theirs has been a project of decades and you can expect to take even more years to deprogram people from the belief system that has been ingrained in the American mind so successfully that more than half of all Americans have bought into those lies.

Tisiphone: The five-year-old boy suffered two strokes as the result of his most recent abuse, which had been ongoing for a long time, leaving him with broken bones in different stages of healing, starving and prone to seizures. This boy doesn’t need more vengeful destruction but never ending love, dedication and years of physical and psychological therapy to make his broken life worth living and not have him end up a (child) abuser himself. Make sure he gets all that and more.

“He (Dad) shooted me.” I do not believe such a statement can ever be a lie, not when uttered by a 6 year old. You're right Joanne, they have not formed the capacity for complex lies at that age. Anyone who has been a parent will recognize this "story". There were times with my sons when I tried explaining things to them that were simply beyond their age and comprehension. I'd get this blank look and I didn't get angry, I realized (took a couple general ed classes on neonatology and child raising as part of my general ed requirements when we decided to have children - I was a NO on that for the first four years of marriage - but when we, she, changed my mind, I decided to learn something about as I recall being unimpressed with my own raising, most of which was done by a shepherd named King who we had for 18 years beginning with my 7th, and which I am sure explains a LOT about me :^). Anyway, I would try the same explanation a year later, when their brain had developed further and see a light go on and knew they were capable of understanding what I was teaching. Or telling. People who do such things to children, and worse in that last story, well, there is NO amount of mercy I could find in me for such. They are far worse than crimes committed against adults and THOSE are horrific too. But to attack someone so defenseless, well, I'd lock you to a rock in the forest and walk away, forever. Sorry, that is harsh I know. But not overly, not comparatively.

I started college as a poli sci major, planning on law school, first class Intro to American Government, on the first day, we were given a 100 question test to see what we knew and so where the instruction needed to start. I aced it but I'd been paying close attention since Eisenhower's second election when I was 7, but the rest of my classmates? Dismal. Then, 1971, they knew as little or less than this survey indicates. Most could not name all three branches, let alone what they did. I was stunned. We were still in Vietnam, people were protesting in the streets but the average young person knew nothing about the system of government which could draft them, send them to war and kill them, with impunity, under the constitution. So, this time? I'm not stunned particularly remembering that 97 million, HALF of us eligible to vote couldn't be bothered last fall. The ONE true duty of a citizen in a free state is to vote, imo. And they couldn't be bothered. I do NOT care the reason. THEY gave us Trump. And, even now? Only some of them know and regret what they did. Most are still oblivious. This does not give me hope for the species, or this country. Because it is not so bad in other lands. Why here? I do not know and I've been puzzling on it for 50 years.

Alecto — “… get every Federal and State legislator behind it so it can get passed and put into effect.” — First it will be necessary for all the legislators, governors and the president to take the course because it is evident that many of them have not got a clue about the constitution. Either that or they are willfully ignorant or just plain ignoring it. Interesting eh! These legislators and government executives swear to uphold the constitution but have not got a clue what’s in it!

Megaera — May justice be served and this POS father rot in prison. I hope this little one will grow up to be confident, compassionate and happy inspite of his sperm donor parent.

Tisiphone — What is it that these women feel the need to abuse this child relentlessly to the point of severe physical and emotional trauma? IMO, 20 years is not long enough!

Furies, your work is cut out for you! Go get them!
