Gillnets should be banned...they kill hundreds of other fish and sea mammals that are not even the fishing target species...Terribly wasteful and tragic!!

Drift nets can be a mile long and as the first poster said, the bycatch is tremendous (other species inadvertently caught in net that die). Bottom trawling is only thing worse.
