This is an interview everyone should pay close attention too. Drugs are US! The Greatest scam ever perpetrated on peoples health was when drug companies were given the right to patent life itself! Many of US have horror stories to share about bad experiences with doctors, so called health care professionals, certain drugs,.

You cannot currently send a star to Yvonne because you have done so within the last week.

"We" need to fumigate the entire government/corporate run agencies, hire new blood, not yet tainted by the gr$$d makers of death. This also has to be an action taken by Americans when it comes to the next elections. "We" the people will chose who becomes our 2012 Presidents cabinet. We are no longer able to trust that whomever wins the White-house will have the fortitude, courage or integrity to clean house!

The garbage has been building for years and the White house is no longer white on the inside.. It's become a den of inequity! Vile thinking brews unbelievable agendas which in no way gives a damn about anything but someones bottom line lining the white house and the congress' pockets.

This election will be the turning point in America's history or, "We" will bust! American's can no longer vote for the lesser of two evils. Who can tell them apart any-longer? "This nation's people and future generations are at serious risk! Pharmaceuticals do not give a damn about the lives of the least of these. The least of these are expendable by the standards set by the gr$$d barons.

They are only good for experimentation! The top 1% gain, since they can afford the outrageous cost should a drug prove to be safe. The poor cannot afford a drug that works, yet the poor are the guinea pigs used to experiment till the drug company gets it right.

I've said this so many times; "Who Won The Second World War"

Poor and unsuspecting American's have become fair game. So too have other nations like India, Africa.

Our prisons are being flooded with folks accused of minor fractions what are they being shot up with? Can they say no? What's in the shots our enlisted are shot up with? Remember the first Gulf war? If you are unaware of what was in the shots then and after 9/11 and the Iraq conflict, educate yourself.

The war drones are the latest example of how a corporation can design,and build weapons
that can maim and destroy from a distance,without the complexity of feeling responsible for actually killing REAL people.
Corporations continue to be led by people who remove themselves further and further from the REAL world
and simply live in the psuedo-realm of profits and numbers and the insurance of their own pleasures.
the wage earner is a pawn, indispensable, plugged into the machine as long as they are useful.
GROWTH at all costs... measured not in cooperation or raising living standards...but by $$$ accumulated.

these are signs of a very sick society.

America is at a dire cross roads! The right and the left, both Republicans and Democrats are either feeding at the troughs of gr$$d or too limp to do what's right. They've proved they cannot lead US without sacrificing US!

Jefferson was so concerned that this young nation would fall into the clutches of those that "We" have. JFK's words ring in my ears. "If Peaceful Revolution's Made Impossible, Violent Revolution's Inevitable" And it's no small wonder what "Jefferson" said about the "Tree Liberty." Jefferson said every twenty five years! America you certainly have stayed too long at the fair..

But "Occupy" is here and this movement will be the movement to end all movements.

America is waking up! Now we need the drug of the spirit to serve up the drug of discontent and slam it down the throats of whomever is in office by making it clear; "We", the rightful owners of this land, have had ENOUGH!

"We", the American people, are putting all of you who have forsaken your vows on notice! "We" mean business! You've dropped the ball, no longer serve truth, empathy and decency. You would have the 99% fall into the abyss where despair lives. The occupy movement declares, that's a non-starter!

This is from a friend: A friend of mine told me a story about when he was a kid he was in the hospital & nearly dying. His grandmother came to the hospital & told a family member to go buy her a large onion & a new pair of white cotton socks. She sliced the onion open then put a slice on the bottom of each of his feet & put the white cotton socks on him.

In the morning when he awoke they removed the socks. The slices of onion were black & his fever was gone. The following story that someone sent to me might have some truth in it & we are going to try it this winter. In 1919 when the flu killed 40 million people there was this Doctor that visited the many farmers to see if he could help them combat the flu. Many of the farmers and their family had contracted it and many died.

The doctor came upon this one farmer and to his surprise, everyone was very healthy. When the doctor asked what the farmer was doing that was different the wife replied that she had placed an unpeeled onion in a dish in the rooms of the home, (probably only two rooms back then). The doctor couldn't believe it and asked if he could have one of the onions and place it under the microscope. She gave him one and when he did this, he did find the flu virus in the onion. It obviously absorbed the bacteria, therefore, keeping the family healthy. Now, I heard this story from my hairdresser in AZ.

She said that several years ago many of her employees were coming down with the flu and so were many of her customers. The next year she placed several bowls with onions around in her shop. To her surprise, none of her staff got sick. It must work.. (And no, she is not in the onion business.) The moral of the story is, buy some onions and place them in bowls around your home. If you work at a desk, place one or two in your office or under your desk or even on top somewhere. Try it and see what happens.

We did it last year and we never got the flu. For flu cure: cut both ends off an onion put one end on a fork and then place the forked end into an empty jar...placing the jar next to the sick patient at night. It said the onion would be black in the morning from the germs...sure enough it happened just like that...the onion was a mess and I began to feel better. Onions and garlic placed around the room saved many from the black plague years ago. They have powerful antibacterial, antiseptic properties. One more thing, never store cut onions and consume the next day.

We need to really repeal or revise both the Bayh-Dole Act and Chakrabarty decision in 1980. Talk about the Frankenstein senerio coming to life. Again, the Corporations make money off of patients but they don't get anything for it.....not even the knowledge of what is being done with their body parts.

The onion is what is referred to as the old wives tale medicines....but works, I've used the onion for many many years.

It is not in the financial interests of any company in pharmaceuticals or medical research to find a cure for anything. In fact, it is in their interests to make us unwell. There have been some brilliant advances in medical science, but unless there is a need to get medical attention fast, often the tried and true natural therapies will do much better than pharmaceuticals. But of course knowledge means empowerment, and this is what companies like Monsanto don't want.

Another example of controlling life is Psychiatry, especially the American Psychiatric Association which is the corporate author of the DSM, the book that states WHAT is a 'mental disorder' in you or I or any human being, and is used in govt's, schools, hospitals, etc. by psychiatrists who then dole out psychotropic drugs to the masses (1 in 10 americans), with of course Big Pharma behind them.
I call that corporate control of people's minds.

Not to mention that many (most? all?) of these psychotropic drugs are tested on rats, mice, cats, and dogs, and the results applied to human beings. Humans=animals.

Spot on Kerry and Kenneth. I've been trying to enlighten folks about this insidious drug game for some time now. Thank God more and more Americans are seeing the light.. But there's an insidious side of government that has failed to serve US according to our inalienable rights.. So "We" must!

The Occupy Movement has an opportunity to become the Change we need0 There's many dire issues that demanded our attention yesterday and now, because of the "Brave Hearts" of the Occupy movement, these issues and many others, as long as "We" hold fast, can soon become a reality "We" can all live with..

The 1% has shown US, because of their arrogance & outrageous gr$$d, they will not fade quietly into the background enjoying their vast wealth unless "We" hold fast. And so "We" must and so "We" will.

I just discovered this interview on DemocracyNow! & thought I'd just check before posting it -- thanks for doing so, Barbara AND getting a lot of attention for it.

I hope everyone who noted it & commented listened to it, because this is really insane -- is there no law to make it a criminal offence to PATENT parts of someone's body?

It sounds like science fiction, I couldn't believe it! But, of course, I do, but am just shocked by the story of John Moore, who was not informed by his doctor that said doctor had taken out patents on parts of his body. This has GOT to be or become a criminal offence, I say to myself, & then I read that it WAS a criminal offence... until 1980: when the Bayh-Dole Act was passed and Chakrabarty decision came about!!

As soon as I read that the about the Chakrabarty decision -that "allowed living things to be patented," I immediately thought of the OGM issue. Vandana Shiva has always held that no one should be patenting nature, but when she defends that, she's talking about seed, the seeds we plant - I never imagined it could apply to our bodies!

What an eye opener ! I sure do hope that the ACLU wins its case against Myriad Genetics - imagine being about to put genes OFF LIMITS to researchers !! That's incredible! US researchers getting 'cease-and-desist' letters from companies, like Myriad, telling them, "We have the patent on this. You cannot work with it." Allowing research into breast cancer treatment to be stymied by a company's patent goes against everything we should stand for. Private enterprise used to be a good thing - now it looks like piracy, piracy of public health, privacy of public welfare!

And of course, the discussion does get to GMOs with the story of Monsanto's 'generous' donation to the Haitian govt & poor Haitian farmers! Monsanto is really just like a pusher - trying to get as many hooked on their poison as they can!

Now if I'm not mistaken -- wasn't Reagan president in 1980? Isn't that when Monsanto started getting big govt support, isn't that when they made up that legal justification for not requiring &ny specific scientific safety tests on OGMs, called 'substantial equivalence'? US regulatory committees have invoked, have been allowed to invoke, that concept of 'substantial equivalence' that says that "if a GM food can be characterized as substantially equivalent to its 'natural' antecedent, it can be assumed to pose no new health risks and hence to be acceptable for commercial use." "Substantial equivalence is a pseudoscientific concept because it is a commercial and political judgement masquerading as if it were scientific. It is, moreover, inherently anti-scientific because it was created primarily to provide an excuse for not requiring biochemical or toxicological tests. It therefore serves to discourage and inhibit potentially informative scientific research." "Showing that a genetically modified food is chemically similar to its natural counterpart is not adequate evidence that it is safe for human consumption." "Unfortunately, scientists are not yet able reliably to predict the biochemical or toxicological effects of a GM food from a knowledge of its chemical composition." (quotes from the famous 1999 paper BEYOND 'SUBSTANTIAL EQUIVALENCE')

PeasantDive thank you for your input and offerings. Reagan was elected November of 1980 . Both political parties have been involved in this issue. Monsanto purchased Searle who also has a dark history.

Donald Rumsfeld is probably the most notable, high profile, monster in this Frankenstein approach towards foods, genes, genetics, Wars, etc.. He was president of G. D. Searle & Company from 1977–1985.
