The team was in Oklahoma to rescue dogs and cats. They were not prepared for horses but could not turn their backs on Dusty once they saw the conditions this poor horse was forced to live in day and night.

I have a beautiful quarter horse who lost an eye to an accident. I was told to "put her down" because she was registered. WHY? She had "friends" that would not leave her side and I tended her wound and gave all the "horse support" I could. Now after seven years, I wish I could show all her beauty, especially when she runs.

My niece rides and shows a horse that a previous owner rejected; the animal had been flogged in the face and otherwise abused. He's now growing old comfortably and she rides him for comfort rather than timed show, but he's a testament to what we should be doing with our peers on this world. He wasn't blinded, but was difficult to bring back to where he now lives with people who care instead of trying to force him. Dogs, cats, and horses are our most useful and responsive peer animals in this world and should benefit from that.

I know this sweet horse is
being cared for but it breaks
my heart to see them not be
whole as nature intended for
them to be.
