The vast amount of glass in skyscrapers and office buildings represents enormous potential for an emerging technology that turns windows into solar panels.

The potential for using the windows in buildings to produce electricity is really exciting - hopefully the costs can be reduced - possbily Governments could help, maybe by re-directing some of the huge amounts of public money pumped in to supporting the banks towards saving the planet instead!

Renewable energy production and demand growth is gaining momentum in many ways across the world,it is clean, and we can do away with this dirty power plants. We have many solar power turbines in Cleveland,Ohio, and it is so clean.

Renewable energy production and demand growth is gaining momentum in many ways across the world, and this is shown up in various products, like the wind turbine.Solar windows would be a great innovation products, and cleaner.

It's good to hear that more and more ways are found to replace oil and gas with renewable energy

Interesting. Of course the north facing windows would probably produce little electricity but would be great for light. South facing would produce the most with east west between the two. Of course that assumes that another building is not blocking the sun.

It will be interesting to see what happens.

Every Major City should offer Tax or other incentives into the feasability of this option .
Buildings with this potential should not overlook this transition .

Please everyone, recognize the importance to save our panet and potential to provide green jobs instead of ones involving oil, like Keystone.

Sounds absolutely fantastic. Let's hope it catches on in a big way. Anything we can do to wean ourselves off of nuclear, coal, fossil fuels, etc. is a step towards progress since renewable energy is the only way to go. Everything else will kill the planet and us in the process. Thanks.

If only all the money that has been spent on Nuclear energy had been put into Solar Power, we would have been so advanced by now and saved a great deal of distress.......Solar is definitely the way to go....better late than never, its great to see that this technology is moving forward now.

Speaking of energy--what are we waitng for??? Please, people, start turning off lights and appliances not needed. Supposedly appliances are sucking energy when plugged in (and not being used). Schools, churches, hospitals, the military, stores, all need to clean house on energy usage. Who wants a nuclear power plant in their neighborhood?? Esp. if it gets whipped around by a tornado??

If it can be done and the solar panels can still function as windows this is mind-blowingly massive

That is a BINGO. If majority of investors agree to these types of windows than the world will be saved.
