I've signed up for my area. Waiting for info.....mine is for Shepp.....as some of you may remember...was left outside, chained with no food or water for a month in Corpus Cristi. Trail date is set for the 29th of this month....please support the chain off. Imagine yourself chained outside, no shelter....in 90 plus weather. Kudos Eric

Hi Dusty - I remember you being so supportive of me when i drove to Mississippi 890 miles each way to get my dog - "Princess" she had been abused so badly the pets in need group helped here find me and everyone was encouraging despite the odds.

I hope to be there in corpus but I am trying to sort things out As usual life continues to quite busy – I am still taking care of my uncle plus, volunteer work plus, recue transports for dogs every weekend and sometimes weekdays, plus taking care of the house the yard and the Dogs = tired and scatter brained Eric

I want to take a minute to express my gratitude to all of you who have noted and commented here – I truly appreciate your time!

I do not get much time at the computer and I cannot type worth a diddly so it is hard to write replies to all that goes on here at care2 news and groups so I read a lot when I can and sign petitions.

Dogs Deserve Better!!

I wish someone would tell me

WHAT? it is that I've done wrong.

Why do I have to stay chained up

& left alone so long?

They seemed so glad to have me

When I came here as a Pup.

There were so many things we'd

do while I was growing up ???

The Master said he'd train me

As a companion & a friend.

The Mistress said she'd never

fear to be left alone again.

The children said they'd feed me

& brush me every day.

They'd play with me & walk me

If I would only stay.

But the Master "hasn't time."

the Mistress says I shed.

She doesn't want me in the house

Not even to be fed.

The children never walk me,

They always say "Not now."

I wish that I could please them.

Won't someone tell me how?

All I had, You see, WAS LOVE.

I wish they could explain

WHY they said they wanted mine

Then left it on A CHAIN.

VERY SAD,but VERY TRUE!! Why does anyone get a dog just to put it on a chain and ignore it? The sad part about it is,that the same dog that is chained up and left outside in all types of weather, alone, ignored, sometimes with no food or water will still protect that family with all its got in its body!! I will NEVER understand why it is so hard for some people to see something so simple!! That dog will protect me and my family and the things in my yard, but that dog is not worthy enough to come in and be treated like a part of the family, and does not deserve to feel loved, safe, comfortable, warm, cool, full, but that dog better protect me and my family and my yard!! SICK and SAD but TRUE!!! They don't ask for much at all,and all you have to give them as a little time,a vet visit from time to time to keep them healthy,LOTS OF LOVE,and a comfortable ,safe feeling!!! Look in their eyes their eyes say soooooooooooooo Much!!! put yourself in their paws!!! They Have unconditional Love for you,and all they ask in return is a little of your time!! If you can't take care of them properly, and return the love they have for you back to them, and if you just have to be abusive, and neglectful by leaving them on a chain, then leave them alone, don't take them home!!

NOTED! Happy to say that chained dogs are illegal in my country. I have never seen one. You also have to provide sufficient shelter and care or Animal Protection will be on your doorstep in no time. We don't kill animals in shelters, not even the old, unadoptable, aggressive and/or ill ones. Never ever. That's called (at least a little) being civilized!!

this is now a wonderful tread. However I would like to ask if anybody outside the USA already had tried to donate money to "Eric's page ? I can not give much as I'm signed of sick today but every dollar helps. So I tried it when this tread was very new , but they did not take my visa card for no apparent reason. I wrote to them and wating for a reply. Come on lets chip some in.. I wil ltry it again . .:)

Well I'm from Germany too but live in the UK for a very long time. I know in Germany we got laws about chaining dogs and it is simply forbidden. However I don't aggree with the non kill shelters , as we do have them too, mostly it is not so known ,but I remember the battles we had with some of the famous shelters in NOrth Germany and to get out some dogs into different ones too. Our animal protection system in Germany is good but it still also leaves much room for improvement.

so far only four people from Care 2 have donated Isma tried but had technical problem - even the price of a good cup of coffee would help -- please help or send to your friends that may be interested in helping dogs.

Anything will help.

I really appreciated all the comments and people that have noted this but I find it makes me sad when I think that of all the friends I have and others on Care2 (a website for those concerned about human and animal welfare) the majority of donations have been from people I have known from out in town.

I do a lot of volunteer work for society and for animals.
'
This is my first activist type thing I have ever done publicly so please forgive if i am, screwing it up.

Sincerely and with heart – Eric Angeletti

Aww Eric..you are not screwing anything up..so nothing to forgive my friend..You are doing the best you can..and that is all any one of us can do..Times are just hard for so many..Just about everywhere donations are down..It is a sad fact of reality in these times..

I am sending something to you now..I wish I could do more..but hope what I can send will help you to help these animals..You should be proud of yourself..((hug))
Hang in there..
