In 2014 alone, over 2000 people with disabilities have been summoned to these medical assessments with a mere 18 people declared unfit for work. The assessments continue as the claims discontinue. We call for an end to these bogus medicals and base...

Thanks Borg. So important to keep this in the public eye, the only way to counter the insidious propaganda the government keeps pushing out.

Thanks Everyone.

he UK government is not interested if you are able to clean yourself properly, cook for yourself or how hard it is to simply dress yourself. They just want you out paying taxes. Mr David Cameron says his priority is the safety & welfare of UK citizens, these two words are breached by the DWP as a direct result of these inadequate medicals. They fail to provide an accurate assessment of your disabilities and plunge you into poverty when they instantly halt your benefit.

This type of action just makes those unfortunately disabled feel even worse about their predicament, like they are just a big drain on society. Capitalism is not only about economic units, though there seems to be a drive to this way of thinking. It's not the sole purpose of any government to lay fundamentals for economic growth, there has to be strong counter balances, otherwise the environment, the poor and the disadvantaged are left way behind, which is happening now! S&N. Thank you, Borg.

omg, this is disheartening. Just another way to kick people when they are down and least able to defend themselves. I'll bet govts everywhere are watching this closely to see how they can implement this, people need to be alert to what is going on in their own countries. You never know when tragedy strikes, you find yourself alone and in need of help, and govt has pulled the rug out from under your feet. And people wonder why there is so much depression.

SS&N. Thx, Borg. Reminds me of the glorious 80s, when St. Ronnie the Dim rode in on his hobby horse and summarily kicked people off Disability. Everyone had to reapply. People died while SSA dithered. Have yet to completely forgive this massacre; still hope the perp(s) are roasting Somewhere Very Warm! Or Worse!

Man who had sickness benefits axed wins appeal - months after he died

Borg Drone (24)
Sunday July 6, 2014, 11:34 am
A widow was horrified when a letter arrived for her late husband saying he had won his appeal against his sickness benefits being axed.

Graham Shawcross, 63, had potentially fatal Addison’s disease, but was ruled fit to work last November and had his £400-a-month incapacity benefit halted.

He died of a heart attack in February this year.

Yvonne, his wife of 23 years, claims the stress of losing his benefits, and of launching an appeal against the decision, caused his death.

She told Department of Work and Pensions bosses Graham had died, but they still invited him to attend an appeal hearing - and wrote again a few days later to say he was eligible for Employment and Support Allowance for at least the next 24 months.
