Eight Yellowstone wolves have been shot and killed during the wolf hunts in the Northern Rockies. Most recently, two wolves from the Lamar Canyon Pack - its infamous alpha female "06" and its beta male, 754M. We have every reason to believe

We ask that you call/email/fax the numbers below to let your voice be heard.

Tell them:

You are outraged by Wyoming’s irresponsible wolf management plan that allows wolves to be killed on sight and their obvious support of hunters killing collared wolves in their state to the detriment of scientific research.
Wyoming, as a destination, has NOTHING to offer us as potential visitors who bring our hard-earned tourist dollars to their state to enjoy, not kill, its wildlife.

Most recently, two wolves from the Lamar Canyon Pack – its infamous alpha female “06” and its beta male, 754M. We have every reason to believe that collared Yellowstone wolves are being targeted in the wolf hunts in the Northern Rockies. These wolves are part of federally funded scientific studies supported by millions of tax dollars, and they are now those studies are completely compromised.

In addition, millions of dollars are brought to the region by eco-tourists who travel to the Park from all over the world to observe these specific wolves. Will Wyoming and all the states in the Northern Rockies wake up when suddenly all the tourist dollars dry up?

We ask that you call/email/fax the numbers below to let your voice be heard.

YELLOWSTONE :

Yet another collared, and very famous Yellowstone wolf killed in Wyoming’s hunt....

Wolf “06″, the alpha female of the Yellowstone’s Lamar Canyon Pack has been shot in Wyoming by a hunter.

Wolf “06″ was probably the most famous wolf in Yellowstone and had been viewed by thousands of Park visitors. She was also part of the ongoing study of wolves that has been conducted in Yellowstone since the time they were reintroduced in 1995. So far there have been 8 collared Yellowstone wolves killed this year and an unknown number of uncollared Yellowstone wolves have likely been killed as well.

The ongoing study of wolves and their interactions with other species is responsible for the huge amount of information gained since the reintroduction of wolves to Yellowstone and Central Idaho. The number of collared wolves lost to the hunt in the surrounding parts of Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming could only be described as crippling to understanding the role that wolves play in the ecosystem. The wolves in Yellowstone also draw millions of tourist dollars to the area each year.

Several conservation groups have petitioned to ask that a buffer zone be created around Yellowstone National Park so that wolves that primarily use Yellowstone National Park have some level of protection when they move out of its boundaries.

I can barely read this story, horrible, terrible.
I would love to shoot that hunter . All hunters, they are the garbage of humanity.
And I do not understand why people always want to study animals, instead of enjoying them.
Leave them in peace and protect the area against all those hunter scum.
