'It's a little girl, She's running defensively eastward.'
'Are we talking about a girl under the age of 10?'
'A girl about 10, she's behind the embankment, scared to death.'
'Anything moving in the zone, even a three-year old, needs to be killed.'
-- Comversation between Israeli soldiers. A 13-year old Palestinian girl was killed by a soldier on her way to school in Gaza. Twenty bullets were found in the girl's body, the soldier having emptied his magazine into her body to "confirm the kill."

Jon Snow is commended to be speaking with the children and reporting on children.

"A people is not defeated until the hearts of its women are on the ground."– Cheyenne saying

One way to get the hearts of women on the ground is to kill off their children.

Thanks for posting this, Jess
I understand, Henriette - I feel the same, but if people don't register these injured and killed, they'll be forgotten too easily, and those heartless crowds who settle themselves on the hills above Gaza to watch and cheer the shelling (maybe not thinking of the death being poured down - or maybe not caring about the deaths - or maybe even happy to know that most of those shells are shedding blood & killing ....

Dandelion, that Cheyenne saying is painfully true.
And one should remember that when women set out to build bridges in order to enable peace, other mechanisms then tend to start to work. There are many mothers who have lost children - among the Israelis as well as among the Palestinians - who are pushing to understanding, reconciliation and an end to the violence ... Among the latest is the mother of one of those 3 kidnapped & murdered teenagers (who were NOT killed by Hamas action - but the true killers haven't been identified yet despite Bibi's reiteration of "Hamas did it" .... while he hid the fact that they knew the teenagers were dead, that the kidnappers spoke in Hebrew ... while he had the military carry out action "searching" across the WB, arresting indiscriminately - and preparing to attack Gaza.

When will there be a shift in government, towards recognition that violence does not put an end to violence - it feeds it. Peace and stability need listening, respect, justice - for both sides, equally.
