Toronto Woman ID'd as Victim in Coyote Attack

A woman attacked by coyotes in the Cape Breton Highlands has died. RCMP Sgt. Brigdit Leger announced this morning that the woman had sustained serious injuries and died overnight.

Oh my gosh....how tragic.. Thank you for telling us about this, Sid. Taylor was truly a gifted young woman so full of life. Shame on the two cyotes that killed her. My most heartfelt sympathies to her beautiful family and I'll remember Taylor and her family in my prayers. How tragic..and unfortunate..

It may be rare..but again..with any wild animal..there is always the risk of an attack..

I still can not understand, coyotes, as far as iI know, have never killed a human before, nor are they usually aggressive fellows to humans.

Certainly in most cases coyotes do give humans a wide berth. However according to the latest data I could find California, a state with both a high people and coyote population, reports about 10 coyote attacks on humans a year - nearly all non-fatal of course.
This report mentions a previous coyote attack on the same trail.

Coyotes usually are not aggressive towards humans they usually go after smaller prey. My prayers to her family, such a tragedy.

this is definitley not normal.
If animals take revenge then that's what it is.
not on the girl herself but on the species that murders it's own species.
If animals really want to avenge loved ones killed by hunters it's likely they won't know the difference.
I say we leave wolves and coyotes alone.
Kill them, and they kill you
