When is Kanye West going to stand up and declare that Barack Obama hates black people? People are defecating in the hallways of apartment buildings in Brooklyn for crying out loud!

Instead of complaining -- as if your party hasn't done enough harm under Bush and republicans to us all----WHY AREN"T YOU LEAVING YOUR COMFY LIVING ROOM AND THERE HELPING OUT IF YOU ARE THAT CONCERNED ABOUT IT ? Typical republicans sit back and complains and do NOTHING !!!

Bloomberg ENDORSED OBAMA Nyack. Nuff said about that eh?

These people were promised help by Obama. Was that all just an election prop? He flew there to use it as a photo op and nothing more? He proves every single day what an incompetent he is.

America deserves better.

Cam V, Obama was asked not to come to NY. In the aftermath of the disaster the Mayor has realised that climate change is very important, so he's endorsed your president. From my knowledge of the workings of federal agencies, at times like this, the FAs are somewhat guide ny local authorities. It is terrible what's happening out there, but my view is Obama can be blamed if he isn't making resources available, which doesn't appear to be the case.

Why the Bush administration was heavily criticised for Katrina (and I don't mean by Mr. West) was because of its lack of response for the first 6/7 days of the disaster! We need to collectively pull together to assist these people.

What both parties--indeed all parties--need to do is place more emphasis on disaster preparedness information. The information is already available from groups like FEMA through Zombie Squad, and from survivalist and prepper blogs. This information should be targeted to the young in schools, and to adults in public service announcements.

Waiting until a disaster is close, or in process, is too late.

Can there not be portable toilets being brought in? Can not the citizens themselves set something up temporary, if even it was plastic buckets with some kind of lid on top of it. I think everyone needs to try to come up with some bit of a solution until more can be done.

You bring up a good point Dandelion but I do not have the answer to that. What this does demonstrate is what a failure our federal governments can be when it comes to situations such as this. As I hear right now another big storm is headed their way only this time it will bring cold air.

They are still finding bodies as well.

My question is, where is our billioniare mayor? I see President Obama, Governor Christie,Senator Gillebran, and mayor Booker consolling, huging, reassuring, and assisting those whose homes have been flooded, stranded in apartments without lights or heat, and needing some kind of reassurance from government.

The only time I see this mayor he is comfortably in warm clothes, having press conferences surrounded by his sycophins or those who kiss up to him. How does he get away with such cold, distant, arrogant, and unsympathetic behavior. Any other mayor would be severely criticized by the media.

Then he had the gaul to insist on having a marathon while people were in the mist of such suffering. He would have permitted the eviction of New Yorkers from hotels to make room for marathoners if there wasn't such a loud chorus of dissent from.

This so-called independent liberal is nothing but a %1 elite who have distain for those who are not rich or who prostrate themselves to him. For the record this link is what the legacy of Bloomberg shpuld be after he leaves office, hopefully never to return to politics again.
