Laura: Did you open a petition? - ARE YOU GOING TO SEND PETITIONS TO A SPECIFIC TARGET? It's next monday! - How could we reach the shelter? ANY IDEA? Don't you have the shelter fax or email,? Something? We cannot count with telephone because it's friday! . I am very far but i think people next to shelter should look for other non kill shelters ,rescuers, foster homes, etc to ask for help. If they call very early in the morning or someone in person go to the shelter very early ,can help in saving the dog.Better if someone with enough "weight" can stop the killing!. - EVERYTHING SHOULD BE DONE VERY EARLY.NOT GIVING CHANCE THAT THEY BEGUIN WORKING EARLY AND DOG DIE. - Ask your web friends if they know someone in georgia that could help! - If the dog is of a specific breed, you can call related breeders and groups to ask for help. There are many that protect specific breeds. In Georgia ,and in the rest of U.S If you open a petition, will be a good idea to target the shelter.I can't imagine how could this dog can be saved.- Someone (or more than one, better)has to go early in the morning to shelter!

Myraida's idea to contact all rescue shelter and no-kill shelters in the area, to contact the shelter to ask for an extension of time, to circulate to anyone close enough to even foster this beautiful dog. Hopefully with the newspaper press in the National Examiner and the email circulation someone will step forward to save her. I will keep her in prayer.

Noted... articles like this make me feel so bad because there's so little I personally can do to help, since I don't know anyone who lives in that area. I have noticed others forwarding, and I want to say thank you... I hope someone will step up to the plate and save this young dog.

There is contact info listed in the article.
I'm hoping there is someone who lives in that area who could contact the local media.
I am sure we can set up a chip in to support his care if he is pulled and placed into a foster home.
I'll continue doing all I can-thank you all!!!

Dearest Laura, I've seen your message a couple of hours before, but I feel sad because the time is too short for me to be eficient from so faraway. Another problem is that all must be done in week-end's time. Anyhow, Saturday morning {in your local time not mine} I'll try to get on the phone some friends. I know that none of them lives in Georgia but they might know someone else living there. I'll send you message right after I'd have news. Kisses.

Laura & everybody! People from GEORGIA!:
There is enter: to the left you will see "RESCUE LINKS" Going down you will see:SAVING GEORGIA DOGS.If you read, you will see they are not picky. They have animals all ages and apparently they rescue animals to be euthanized! - Please: Contact them !Calls, emails, visiting personally, call radio stations for help (to save the dog by adopting (suprvised adoptions, please!) , fostering or localizing petfinder!!! - Urgently!) I am far from continental U.S .Cannot make it myself. But i think that if many people communicate with them asking for help, they will answer. But there have to be many, many people because i am more than sure they are full!l If they accept and can do it,I think we should donate.Doesn't have to be big quantities .Little by little we can help them care for the dog (s) I think they are "trying harder"! If they accept, i will donate inmediately.

Noted. Laura , I have just called the shelter in Georgia 2 times . They are closed on the weekends ! I left messages both times with my number and told them if they would call me - I would call them back Explained why I was calling and asked why this dog HAD to be put down on Monday morning . i also said that we had just gotten this yesterday and that with them being closed this was a very unfair situation . That we needed to talk with someone to find out which rescues and shelters to call since there isn't one in their county , and we wanted to make sure we didn't call the wrong one . And that how could we help save a dog from death if they were closed and we had no one to help us help him . I also said that if we were given just a little bit more time we could could get this dog pulled . I left my phone number - I'll wait a couple of hours and then call back when they should be there feeding , maybe between 4 to 5 . They are open Monday - Thursday 8 to 5 , and Fridays 3 to 5 and closed on weekends . Now how can they get animals adopted with those hours ?! This is so frustrating . Will keep y'all posted.

Cannot leave another green star Krista. Thanks for your follow-up. Myirada had the name of a rescue but did not give the name or contact numbers. I would call if I had the numbers. You can always leave a message on the week-ends. If the shelter knows we are watching they will hopefully give this dog a reprieve.
Judith sent message to Facebook. Thank you.
I pray this sweet dog finds an affectionate home. We need an end to euthanasia, when we are allowing puppy mills to churn out more dogs. A pedigreed dog is not what most people want and even those are not always adopted until they are grown up. Our local government was going to ban all pet shops selling live animals but changed their mind at the last minute. They want the tax revenue from these $700 on up purchases.

I have sent emails but no response as of yet.
More and more we hear about these poor babies at the last minute and when we want to help the shelter/facility is not open!!!!!!!!!!
Most places euthanize first thing in the morning so timing is CRITICAL.
Keep calling, sending emails, forwarding, praying/sending good vibes...
please do not give up!!!

No news. :(
I do not know if the local media has been contacted; someone in the area may see his story and want to adopt him.
Please do not call the facility unless you can pull, place, or adopt him; the staff is busy and will not be able to answer all of the calls. (I meant to add that to my last post; I'm running on little sleep these days.)
Thank you everyone!

Laura: If you enter ,when you read : SAVING GEORGIA DOGS,enter. There you will find petfinder. In fact there is a note explaining more or less that they are specialized in rescuing dogs from kill shelters!- Saving georgia dogs, inc - Po box 260,Barnesville,Ga. 30204 Maybe someone can find a tel using the address.//// email: i don't get it wrong)

Laura,we don't have much time/oportunities.Dog will be euthanized IN THE MORNING!. If they don't know about us by then,it could be too late.Imagine they don't answer the telephone before killing .It happens here in P.R - You can visit SAVING GEORGIA DOGS(PETFINDER) if you want to see by yourself if itcould be a good choice. They also should know about this asap because many times they can call the shelter directly and help the animal. But they should be informed and we have to ask for their help better before early monday morning!

I have called the contact number given when the machine answers the phone - 4times now and left detailed messages. So far I have NOT been called back . And you really don't want to randomly call rescues you know nothing about . We need reccomendations from the shelter on the ones they have worked with .I will keep calling and will get up early Monday morning if i haven't reached them before that and talked to someon about giving us more time to save this dog since they haven't been there or returned the phone messages being left for them about this puppy .Will keep trying .

I couldn't find this poor soul a few days ago when I first read a message going around about him. I assumed he was rescued. Would it be too much for these shelters to email or call somebody back and let the know:( I'll go search all the shelters in that area again.'
Thank you Laura, I'll be back

I don't understand the hours they're open! Seems like ''euthanzia'' is ''the answer'' when in reality it costs tax payer's money. In the end we're talking about saving animals' lives!! No one here wishes to EVER euthanize a prefectly healthy puppy/dog. My prayers are with him!

Is there any news yet, anyone? LAURA, KATHY, KRISTA??? Would love to hear that he's been saved. !!!

Why don't shelters give us more warnings & let someone know about updates???

Maybe we could designate a person for each 3 or 4 states surrounding their state they live in, to be the contact person for the Shelter/shelters near them.!
We are not getting enough notice about Dogs (& kitties) who are in danger of being "PUT DOWN"
It would then be nice to know when people's hard work of phone calls, emails, etc., have a Happy outcome.!

It would inspire us to Keep on trying & not Give Up !
