Marketing to kids is a multi-BILLION dollar industry. That's why new guidelines proposed by the government are asking companies to limit what foods and beverages they market to kids to ensure that they meet standard nutritional requirements.PETITION

Thank you for sending a powerful message to some of our nation's largest corporations letting them know that we expect them to do better by our children. If they stop hawking unhealthy goods to our kids we will be taking a big step forward in the effort to reduce childhood obesity.

Lots of fruit and veggies and then you will see the difference in the behaviour of humans. Eat natural and not genetic engineered food. All the hormones that people eat is the reason why people are behaving evil and cruel.

"Prevent obesity! Take Action!" LOL. I appreciate irony. If we all took more action --ie physical activity -- there would be less obesity.

Get the kids away from the TV and those commercials, and outside playing, or doing chores.

I totally agree that junk food shouldn't be marketed to children. On the other hand, parents need to take responsibility here!! They are the ones in power, not the children. There's this word, I think a lot of parents have forgotten what it is... NO! Use it. Signed and noted. Thanks

Parents need to have the knowledge to make the right choices, and need to be supported by schools, nurseries and family and friends. Processed food is often much higher than we realise in salt and sugar, and so people need to know how to cook properly, and have the time to cook!

Surely people need to start taking some responsibility for the choices that they make on their own behalf and also on behalf of their children! No one is holding a gun to their head and FORCING them to buy all this crap.

Noted, but unable to sign - US only. Thanks Lindsey for this petition, which is so important for our future generations. Our Government here in South Africa is also busy with the same thing - companies also have stop marketing unhealthy food and they will have to put healthy food items on their menus and stop giving free toys with all the rubbish food.

Noted. As a kid I saw a bunch of ads aimed at getting us to eat the junk food, but our house never had it. I think the parents are ultimately responsible for what comes into the house.

There is a problem with fat kids today, but this is a touchy subject. I believe it is ultimately up to the parents to control what their children consume, not the governments.

it is so sad that even children are plagued with obesity. Kids need to stop eating fast food, and spending their lives in front of televisions and computer games.
