Dec 27, 2011, the Kansas Humane Society (KHS) accepted an owner surrender named Lucy, a friendly and healthy one year old Labrador. KHS killed Lucy within 10 minutes of intake in apparent violation of Kansas state law, which requires a three day holding.

It's difficult to understand how a Humane Society could euthanize a 12 month old healthy Labrador, for inappropriate chewing, within minutes of arriving to the facility. The ASPCA has defended the killing.

Ms. Nott, the owner, was sitting in the parking lot sobbing & called her sister. After their conversation, she went back inside to get Lucy, but sadly the dog had already been killed. Another tragedy thanks to the "Humane" Society.

It seems as though this society is not so 'humane' after all but they're quick enough in taking your dollars that are donated!!! This 'humane' society is beginning to think that its above the law of the land and can do what it likes, so now is the time to start to protest, Let the offenders of this crime be punishd like every-one else and investigate the society's poilicies.

I feel that Humane Society should do something right now about all these "not humane" practices. I used to volunteer at one local humane society in the past and it was a very good one so I hope that not every humane society shelter is bad.
