In case you didn't know, tigons are when a lioness and a male tiger mate. Ligers come from male lions and female tigers. Check out these cute tigons born in China. I do wish they had better enclosures...

BTW...What are they trying to do make another breed since they have killed off all of the Natural Ones?

It makes a bigger cat Marilyn which means more fur in my opinion is all they are interested in

Not thrilled with the mixing of big cat breeds. It is not done in nature.

The quality of life aspect is not a consideration in China, hence the concrete enclosures. Those babies will be considered lucky if they're not bred for use in traditional chinese medicines. Wild animals being bred in southeast asia is never a good thing.

Of course they are adorable, but I do wish people would not mix up the different animals breeding wise. Their living conditions could be tons better, too.

Just because we can....doesn't mean we should.

They look like baby lions with a tiger coat. Granted, the Chinese
don't know whether to eat animals or mate them. Yet, the facts are;
they are adorable.
they exist.
they are likely to also go extinct.

Thank you

Adorable little critters. I hope that they can survive and hopefully find a better home. That enclosure looks none too comfortable.

Didn't Napoleon Dynamite, the kid in that movie, fill his notebooks with drawings of "ligers?" I think I like ligers better than tigons, but any way you slice it, those babies are adorable! Before we say, "Hmmmph, nature wouldn't have done it that way," we must remind ourselves that in the brave new (totally f**ked up) world, "nature" is being subverted, revised, destroyed, used up, etc, every day -- by the machinations of man. VERY LITTLE is "natural" anymore. Animals everywhere are severely threatened, and certainly their "natural" lifestyles are threatened.

So if these little ligers can survive, and if more of their ilk can join them, I say YEA! Because every animal life is precious and wonderful.

This should'nt be happening. Most of the mothers die while giving birth to Ligers or Tigons because the babies are too big. Bu they don't give a damn about the animals, they just want to make money. This is insane!
