Snakes often cause fear in humans, and many of us want nothing to do with them. As the human population has increased the habitat for snakes has diminished significantly to the point that hundreds of snake species are now considered threatened species.

Here in my studio, I have 2 pictures with a 2,5 metres Pyton on my shoulders at the Singapore Zoo (in 2 different trips)

and another one together with Jasmine with a Boa Constrictor on her shoulders...(in another occasion, still at the Singapore Zoo....)

The only sensation was that they were.... COLD....

I love snakes! Very misunderstood animals. I hope awareness grows on the importance they play in our ecosystem.

Dead scared of snakes? Of COURSE!! BUT - we've had a 1.5 snake on our front porch for nearly 4 months now - if its a mole snake, no problem, they only bite like hell; if it's a Cape cobra, deadly poisonous, we're all running like hell! But we're still waiting to find out, as this 'babe' is very shy and has not really disturbed any of us - we've even got used to going out the front door again as the snake 'reverses/goes into hiding' when we do encounter each other. But yes, they're part of the ecochain and have every right to coexist on this planet!

Not crazy for Snakes and hate rattlesnakes that are out here in California. But, so wish I had more garden snakes here in the canyon to get rid of all these Gophers! Snakes are vital for our Eco System, and most of the time hide ~ unless they are out getting the heat from the sun.

Many species of snakes will survive this period of mass extinctions, but there is no guarantee that humans will.

Signed! We have to show people how beautiful creatures these animals are! People are afraid because they do not like what they don't understand...:)
