The Food and Drug Administration said Thursday it approved a new blood test from Roche to help doctors diagnose diabetes. The Cobas Integra 800 is a blood test that measures a patient's average blood sugar level over the previous three months.

They make this sound like a new discovery. The A1C test has been around for a long time and that is what they've been using to find an average blood glucose for the last 3 months! So really isn't anything new far as I'm concerned.
