This is another IMPORTANT PETITION for ALL EUROPEANS ! Many of you are already familiar with these European Initiatives, designed to collect 1 million signatures to be effective. You MUST BE A EUROPEAN CITIZEN WITH A PERMANENT RESIDENCE IN A EUROPEAN MEMBER COUNTRY.
To READ in German or ANOTHER LANGUAGE, select from box on top right of page.

Main objectives:
In the long run the objective is to offer to each person in the EU the unconditional right as an individual, to having his/her material needs met to ensure a life of dignity as stated by the EU treaties, and to empower participation in society supported by the introduction of the UBI. In the short term, initiatives such as “pilot‐studies“ (Art 156 TFEU) and examination of different models of UBI (EP resolution 2010/2039(INI) §44) should be promoted by the EU.

Signatures needed: 1.000.000
Deadline: 14/01/2014
Total e-signatures on 25/11/2013 08:00 (day 249 of 299) 147340 !!! URGENTLY NEEDS MANY MORE !!!

I know-as stated in comment above-too bad, Kit. The US needs some tool like this urgently as well since Congress is obviously NOT the place for this...

But I'm grateful for all and any notes as well so this gets best exposure! Past experience with these initiatives, mostly for animalwelfare and environmental causes, have proven how hard it is to get that 1m signs. but they succeeded in the end-thanks to massive circulation /promotion/fwd !

Learn, share, discuss! Just one spark is needed, only one country and it will spread like a bushfire. It was so with all progressive ideas. Who knew what "1%" means only 3 years ago, but today you will hardly find a person without firm opinion on this issue. And not a flattering one, IMO.

Whoops, sorry Angelika. Tried to get by with an address from a European friend, but it won't take. Thanks anyway. I wish this effort all the best.

Please people avoid fake entries there, they do have a database i assume and also any non EU addresses will be sorted out by the system-bad for the target and deadline, remember that!
If you fill in false info and also check the boxes beneath, confirming that you read the terms and gave true information, you will have committed a forgery of documents.

I don't know how it works for other countries, but I had to give my personal identity number (mostly used as my personal tax number). I think that each EU state will use some database of voters, social or health security users, driver licenses, or any ID that you use to prove your identity. False and double signatures will be deleted, too so no cheating. If you want to help, please, forward this to your friends and help them fill the form if they find it confusing or if they do not use computers. I think that activists are also collecting paper signatures, but it might be hard to find when and where.

Currently, there are 145.909 signatures; two states have passed the threshold, 5 states will probably make it.

For daily updates, please refer to THIS MAP.

To learn more, go to the initiative web site: FAQ Page.

Also, check links from my previous comment, from Monday November 25, 2013, 10:17 pm.

YES!- SHARE- SHARE-SHARE as I previously already asked my friends to do with the separate message I sent out for this. Thx Jelica for adding this additional useful info! I would have done that myself, too after a while watching how this post emerges here.

It's unpleasant to see how many invalid signatures have obviously already been removed-compare the numbers!
There were 147340 on Monday-as I wrote in comment above.
No surprise to see CROATIA and SLOVENIA having reached the threshold :), looks like some of the organisers of the initiative also come from there.

You should all read their FAQ -in your respective language!- you've any doubts. For some countries the requirements for signing have changed recently. What I do wonder about, though, is why the link WAS REMOVED /DISABLED that explained the reason why AVAAZ rejected a petition for this cause.-?
