The Washington Post should be honest with readers about a big CONFLICT of interest: The newspaper's new owner Jeff Bezos is the founder and CEO of Amazon -- which recently landed a $600 million contract with the CIA.

Off-topic, but as a side note know that we currently have a big strike of Amazon workers- they fight for their rights very much like McDonalds and Walfart... not obeying to OUR union and tariff laws but insisting on theirs, leaning on US regulations and paying wages as for transport instead of wide range services.

given that Amazon won that CIA contract makes me wonder if their new delivery drones may secretly also be designed for "dual purpose". (better spying)..-? You never know or guess how twisted and screwed business ties could be after all...CIA has too much storage power as it is, why do they need a new cloud built
(background story here for anyone interested>http://www.informationweek.com/cloud/infrastructure-as-a-service/amazon-again-beats-ibm-for-cia-cloud-contract/d/d-id/1112211?)

The Washington Post has been a CIA 'asset' since the Graham days. And, it has always been a 'yellow journal' rag; (it led the charge to the Spanish American War with its 'Remember the Maine' illustration).

some additions/update here from RootsActions:

The Amazon-CIA deal is apt to be just the start. Amazon’s offer wasn’t the low bid, but it won the CIA contract anyway by offering advanced high-tech “cloud” infrastructure.

So, Bezos -- the sole owner of the Post -- stands to gain if his newspaper doesn’t ruffle CIA feathers.

Bezos is personally and publicly touting Amazon Web Services -- and Amazon will be seeking future CIA contracts. Last month, Amazon issued a statement saying, “We look forward to a successful relationship with the CIA.”

While Amazon strives for a “successful relationship” with the Central Intelligence Agency, readers of the Washington Post will keep seeing articles about that agency.

Amazon has a bad history of currying favor with the U.S. government’s “national security” establishment. The media watch group FAIR cites what happened after WikiLeaks published State Department cables: “WikiLeaks was booted from Amazon’s webhosting service AWS. So at the height of public interest in what WikiLeaks was publishing, readers were unable to access the WikiLeaks website.”
