I lived under segregation over half my life. Martin Luther King, made known to the WHOLE WORLD, the discrimination of the African American. United States used the word segregation, the South Africa used the world Apartheid, now what word will Uganda use. A human is a human, black, brown, yellow, white, male, female, religion, or orientation. Human Rights are for ALL. NOT JUST A FEW.

It is rather interesting how once LGBT folks get an upper hand that they then move in the direction of trying to FORCE others who understand things differently to accept THEIR way of life as being "normal" and at times go out of their way to cause distress to any who disagree with them. Do you not think that Ugandans have not seen this? Hence this Bill. Methinks that you overstep the mark and now this is happening.

First you demand that everyone accepts your "decision" and when enough people say "Well, let live but don't push it down my throat". Next you move on the Marriage situation and want all equal rights. The next thing is you all then call for pressure to FORCE your way of life on to other governments. I see things getting MUCH worse once the LGBT folks get THEIR way. I have lost sympathy for you. Sorry.

shared in fb before email. My family would be in grave danger in these scenarios. I'm sure many of us can empathize directly with the threats, laws and no understanding. Robert Garvin, wonder if you'd be of the same mind if one of your children was gay. Happened to my parents. They were born in the 20's and "handled" their child with gentle loving care throughout the discovery and reveal. Perhaps a bit of historical knowledge would give folks in the "new country" perspective. Unbelievable

I wonder if Robert Garwin also supported the PREVIOUS bill calling for the DEATH PENALTY FOR GAY UGANDANS... it took over 4 years fighting to have that repealed and was now changed to life in prison..and he still thinks that is ok- beware folks of the extreme eveangekic right wing, the danger is not to be underestimated

Many of you will not understand me, but Russia and I - we are against. Recently about gays so much said and written that it was imposed on advertising, almost-fashionable to be gay. I am united with the country that gays live among us - and live, but propaganda is not necessary. What will they do behind closed doors is their business, but to promote abnormal lifestyle is not necessary. Nature against, so what happened to separation of the sexes male and female, and not as it was (germofrodity like hyenas) during the Lemurian race.I certainly think that it is not necessary for the orientation jailed , but the general wording of the petition does not allow signing.

To: Uganda’s President and politicians, and world leaders

We call you to do everything within your power to stop the "Anti-Homosexuality Bill" from becoming law, prevent it from being used, and protect all Ugandans from violence, arrests, and discrimination.

We also ask:

Foreign governments to come out publicly against the law and recall ambassadors.
Corporations working in Uganda to speak out about the law.
Religious institutions to issue statements encouraging respect for human rights.
I am asking Helga and all who else might oppose this petition or find reasons to NOT sign:
WHAT is in there that needs to be objected??
How can it be right to put people in jail for their sexual orientation-or even ec´xecute them as, Uganda had proposed previously????

Angelika R (143)
Thursday February 27, 2014, 10:08 pm
@ Helga- there would never have been any of what you consider too much"propaganda" for the LGBT community, if there had not been dozens of abuse cases and human rights violations in Russia where gays got publicly beaten up in the streets! The silly law Putin came up with only fueled the public outcry. Is it any wonder if then there are loud voices as a consequence?

S & N, what a shame that Uganda is still so intolerant and is wanting to imprison people based upon their genetic makeup. People do not choose to be gay, nor do they choose to be black, white, yellow or red. The lack of tolerance & care for their people is a disgrace.
