Just days after a poacher's snare had killed one of their own, two young mountain gorillas worked together Tuesday to find and destroy traps in their Rwandan forest home, according to conservationists on the scene.

Anyone who thinks animals are "dumb" and have no emotions are stupider than they think the animals are.

How about that?

Now, if only they would set some traps or poachers............

This is a fantastic find. I hope they document the behavior well. Its fantastic that they have started to protect themselves. The learning ability of primates always astounds me.

Spammers flagged (am fed up & am declaring war on 'em by flagging every ad I see) /rant

Seems the Gorillas are fed up with the poachers & are actively doing something about it. Very good article Marty, thanks for bringing it to us.

It's quite obvious that animals are the once with brains and hearts, after all, humans are so stupid they destroy their own world!!

I love this article. You go, gorillas! Now if only we can show them how to trap and kill the poachers. I bet that would increase tourism.

I love it, this has made my day. Animals are not given enough credit, they are very smart. Shame they just can't move them somewhere else and let the poachers get in one of there own traps. I hope that the gorillas dismantle every trap that they find. I would love to see the look on the poachers faces. Priceless. I do wish the poachers would leave these poor animals alone, before they become extinct. Keep up the good work kids and be safe and lets see who has the last laugh!!!!!

Animals have brains but no understanding of knowledge, Humans have knowledge but no brains, if they (Humans) did have brains they would not do all the horrible things that they do!!!

what I wonder this.. when the silver back warned the humans to stay back so the youngsters could dismantle the trap... was he doing it to keep them from harm?
