When it comes to apocalypse and planet-wide destruction, there seem to be no shortage of details on the when and how and why, with some "prophets" saying they are certain the world will come to a halt on this day or that. Most prophets of doom come from

I am very disappointed. I can't afford to pay rent & I can't find a job. I wish voluntary euthanasia was legal in the US.

Reminds me of the stock cartoon of the guy with the sign "the end is near" on one side and on the reverse.....

The man is itself the responsible person of initiating the apocalypse. If the humanity do not awake, in little time, the world will be a terrible place to if live.

I agree with the other Gloria. Was hoping the world would end before I run out of $.
Maybe the world really will end and there is a conspiracy going on about it not happening on the 21st so we are fooled into going Christmas shopping anyway.
I plan a food binge on the 2oth, just in case...think of it this way;;;calories wouldn't matter any more!

Thanks Marty.

You youngsters might see if Newton was correct about 2060. That's 48 years of Climate Change, 48 years of nation states, and others, acquiring nuclear weapons, 48 years of inequality, 48 years of changing "greatest powers", and 48 years of people losing their patience.

We don't need to save the planet; it's excellent at saving itself. Unfortuneatly when it does so species are exterminated. Humans are last in; they might be first out.

Quote from Steve Jobs: “You can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something — your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life.”

I think the end of the world is going to be caused by a lack of twinkies. There is probably a months worth left world wide then boom! no more twinkie preservatives and we are all done. look at the dinosaurs, no twinkies and that was it for them

Doomsday will come if greedy, powerhungry countries are not stopped before it's too late.
They all have nuclear weapons to kill humanity several times over.

The world will not end on any particular day. It will be a lenghty process.
Of course by world we mean life forms, particularly humans.
As for the planet itself, it's good to go until the sun turns into a white dwarf and swallows it.
I tend to beleive that the end of the world (life forms) is already in progress.

Certain religious groups threaten us with doomsday dates. It never happened. But this planet will destruct sooner or later thanks to our industrialists and policians polluting our planet by waging wars. It is a process of holding a hand granade between your legs and dropping the pin.
