A giant stone animal has been found at an excavation site in Chengdu, southwestern China, baffling archaeologists as to what it may be. The mysterious rock beast was unearthed in the capital of Sichuan province today and is thought to be 2,000 years old

Thanks Marty for the link to the article. At first I thought the stone looked like a hippo but after reading the article and seeing those wonderful photos it does look like a giant panda. Read and noted

I love this kind of stuff - too bad the statue didn't have more detail. I think it looks like a hippo if not for the ears.
