So sad what people will use as an excuse to spread hatred. Religion, whatever it may be, should be about promoting peace, love and community, not about hate and prejudice. I can't image any god/dess condoning that behavior in THEIR name.

This is just SO WRONG! ! And right in the backyard of where I was raised! I am glad I have not carried these sad ideas out of the community. I so agree with Lauren, and add: would they treat a Downs syndrome person the same way! I don't think so. But then Red Deer is the center of the "bible" belt of Alberta,,. With the Three Hills Bible College just a few miles away. The bible, and other books were all written by dirty old men who wanted to run things the same way G.W.Bush and his cronies are trying to do today. This MY OPINION of which I to Have the RIGHT to Bought by My Uncles life in WW2 and I'll stand by it. RELIGION IS NOT GOD! NOT GOD NOT GOD This is the same area that raised the sons that RAPED ME.

Hate and prejudice have no room in this world...If one learns to live with hate in their heart. Then one never learns to live at all..KS..Noted/thanks

So many people are fanning the flames of hatred lately in the name of "God".

"I do not hate the homosexual. I hate the practice," he said, adding that condoning the behaviour in front of children damages society. I wonder how many out gays the dear 'pastor' includes among his closest friends. The hipocracy of these hate-peddling homophobes is breathtaking - the 'sin' but not the 'sinner', syndrome!

It should be noted that the 'mission' of most religions is to claim the world in the name of their particular 'god'. If this is not a recipe for conflict, then I do not know what is!

Mankind has always created their 'gods' to excuse and justify atrocious behavior. Religion is organized and the various dogmas have been put in place to control the so-called faithful. Faith, on the other hand, is personal, and can never be dictated or used for controlling others. Organized religion has been used for thousands of years to spew hatred, prejudice, wars, seperatedness, and killing. And the perfect place for such brainwashing is a building constructed for bringing the masses together twice a week for indoctrination.
