They may look like homes out of Beatrix Potter books, but houses with grass lawns planted on the roof may be the latest weapon in the battle against global warming.

I wonder if I can get away with this in NYC? I think it would be a great start towards Bloomberg's Greener City!

This is sooo cool. But doesn't it create an insect problem. Surely, so much green must attract a lot of small insects (although I don't mind them really as I grew up in the country and had small spiders in my bathtub on a regular basis.)

To deal with a few insects would be so much better than living where there is nothing but stagnant air, pollution of all kinds and where there there is nothing green..........Green and other colors in the environment are natural to Mother Nature otherwise we might be living surrounded by sand. Think of the Sahara, which was at one time a lush garden.

Man has messed up bigtime and now we "MUST" fix it in any way beneficial to Mother Earth and not so much our greedy selves.....................

Plant air conditioners-
Grow trees
It's the cool thing to do........................
