The wolf is a remarkable species that symbolizes all things natural, wild and free. Wolves once reigned atop magnificent and diverse ecosystems across North America, helping to maintain a critical balance of nature on this continent.

It's disgusting that ranchers blame wolves for loss of cattle, when in all truth, the wolves are killing animals they would most likely have to shoot later since they wouldn't be able to sell them. Luckily, we don't have that problem up here, but that's because it's hard for the wolves and moose to cross over from Isle Royale, therefore creating a mostly isolated ecosystem for them. If the wolf population was where it should be, we wouldn't be having such the urban deer problem that many of our cities have.

The wolf has always been a survivor, however, man is his worst enemy. How is any animal to survive guns - it's such an unfair advantage that people have over animals - and the canned hunts are the worst! We must do something to ensure that wolves are not killed off by people w/a single agenda in mind - like the ranchers. Surely, there are solutions - they must provide better protection for their cattle instead of insisting that 75% of wolves be killed. That's ridiculous! Just because they want it does not mean it is the right thing to do - it will totally upset the balance of nature which is the reason the problem is as it is now. Stop playing w/nature, people. You only cause more problems.

LET THEM LIVE IN PEACE. HAVE WE NOT DONE ENOUGH DAMAGE OVER THE YEARS. THE WOLVES ONLY TAKE WHAT THEY NEED TO SURVIVE. NO MORE!! MAN CAN LEARN MOST OF ALL FROM THIS BEAUTIFUL, SMART, AND EVER WISE BEING.

Man has no right to take anything away from these beautiful majestic animals--they were here first and do not do anything to harm man, unless they are antaganized by man--so just leave them be!!

Hugs,
Suzanne
