Pure Cellular Consciousness

Most people have had some experiences of pure cellular consciousness. This is what athletes commonly call "being in the zone".
It is a heightened state of awareness in which one's attention is in the

present moment, the mind is quiet, the emotions unencumbered, and one

experiences one's body in a perfect flow of precision or oneness with the

environment. A good example is skiing. One experiences pure cellular consciousness when one's awareness is an ecstasy of rthym and movement, one has the sense of being able to feel the texture of the snow even through one's boots and skies, one feels a seamless connection with the air and mountain. One's experience is being the flow. In discussion with other therapists, we have theorized that when an individual, even temporarily, moves beyond the affects of the body's defense mechanisms one enters the awareness of being in "the zone" or "The Field".

Yes, I believe I have had a few experiences like that too. "Being in the zone" -- it happens (to me) mostly in the gym. Or when I am busy doing something that I enjoy indeed and know how to do. Or while writing a poem, a story...
