Thousands of US Families Suffering, Tens of Thousands Worldwide

On December 5th, 2006, Dr. Edward L. Spencer MD spoke to the Berkeley California Mayor and City Council Members on behalf of the Community Environmental Advisory Commission (CEAC).


HERE IS A TRANSCRIPT OF DR. SPENCER'S COMMENTS:

Honorable Mayor and Berkeley City Council Members:



My name is Edward Spencer MD. I have practiced Neurology in Northern California for more than thirty years. I am speaking tonight on the issue of health and nanotechnology.



A very strange disorder named Morgellons disease is among us, and the world wide number of cases is approaching 20 thousand with major clusters in the Bay Area and Southern California.



There now exists strong data indicating that this disorder is associated with nanotechnology, specifically nano machines in the form of nanofibers. The National Science Foundation (NSF) defines nanofibers as having at least one dimension of 100 nanometer (nm) or less.



So-called Morgellons disorder presents as brain fog, fatigue and other neurological symptoms. It is associated with the presence of tiny fibers protruding from the skin, intense itching, the possible appearance of ulcerative lesions ringed by a raised crater rim, and other strange lesions. The fibers have been widely observed to move.



There is no satisfactory treatment, physicians and dermatologists are unfamiliar with this chronic disabling disorder and tend to ignore it. Patients become labeled as having Delusions of Parasitosis, and this psychiatric diagnosis is stuck to the patients by dermatologists who have not examined the skin under magnification, and who have not completed the extensive evaluation necessary to exclude all parasitic skin disorders before making a psychiatric diagnosis.



Pictures of the fibers are provided in the packet and I will direct your attention to the blue fiber with the gold tip. This was removed from a patient. This fiber did not burn until it has been heated to 1700 degrees F. Compare that with hair, which is easily burned producing a characteristic odor and has a cellular structure. The fibers are shed regularly and some grow to long lengths indicating fiber production in the human body. Dr. Janovy has stated of this blue fiber, 'it has no eukaryotic cells, it has no cell membrane, it is not a parasite, it is not biological, it is a machine.' Note the similarity of structure.



There is evidence that Morgellons disorder(s) is carried by insect vectors, as some type of bug bite frequently precedes the onset of the disorder(s). The agent(s) producing Morgellons are in the sewer systems.



Also included are photomicrographs of very strange skin lesions. Morgellons appears almost biblical in its characteristics…. like something described in Exodus. Dr Randy Wymore of the University of Oklahoma sent fibers to the FBI. No matching fibers were found in the FBI forensic database. A contact in Naval Intelligence has recommended looking into Smart Dust. (Specks in field arrays).



The National Register of Environmental Professionals has assigned a task force to look into environmental causes behind Morgellons Disorder. I ask the Berkeley City Council to request that the University of California devote its considerable intellectual and technical resources to studying these nanofibers and this disease.



Under the wise guidance of Wall Street and insurance companies, American Medicine has fallen into an amazing state of degeneracy. Medical care is unavailable for many, access is limited for most, and research money is frequently unavailable except from major drug companies. Using technical terms, American Medicine is in the toilet. The response of the CDC has been lethargic to the point of being alarming.



A simple electronic microscope such as you see here allows inspection of the skin at 50x to 400x and allows the clinician to document the existence of fibers. Eyeballs at two feet won't do it, and simple equipment like this should be available in the UC Clinics. And, of course, we need methods of treatment. Keep it up Scott and we won't have any doctors or Naturopaths to see these patients. I think you might want to look at the Curriculum Vitae and the background check of whoever is claiming this.
Ask for PROOF of the supposed nano battery sample I have asked for the sample to no avail. People just are going on U tube and rense, if they are correct show me the transparent proof, labs analysis.
Also it is 1500 degrees not 1700 degrees, Dr Wymore proved this way before anyone and is transparent about this.
Keep posting this and we will never get the recognition we need for treatment of these patients...either Allopathic or Homeopathic.
Please Scott, these people are suffering and if they go to a Doctor for help they are getting turned away.
This is causing more harm to this cause than good. If what you say is true let Wymore prove it, he will not hide anything.
Please Check your resources and ask for transparency in this claim. Show me the data and show me the lab results for this.

Tapes on youtube is not RESEARCH either, it is quite clear that some of these tapes are faked (even faked purposfully to decive, as we are well aware)- and anyone can say anything and get it published. A real problem needs a real solution. On the subject of tursting the government. Aren't they the ones that brought us LSD? Didn't they secretly test this on unsuspecting humans, known as the MK-Ultra Mind Control Program? Mike, I am not a blind believer like you - I ask questions - and I want real answers. Scott has faked vidieos - and admitted it - and this is faked too. He has no credibility at all! Only blind followers whould believe his stuff without question given his admitted fraud!

Also Mike - why get so defensive when someone questions you? It is indeed a sign of a weak standing when one resorts to insults when confrunted. I have so many patients with this disease it is ridiculous. They are so very sick, no Doctors will see them. I am trying and have dedicated the last years helping these people.

I apologize to all. My point was about nanotechnology and the fact that there isn't enough research to know if it is safe or has horrible side effects. Whether Morgellans is caused by nanotech is doubtful. It was first diagnosed in 1935, I believe, and Nanotech was first introduced in the late '50s but was not called nanotechnology at that time. Correct me if I am wrong, please.

On the other hand, we can not discount the fact that our government has experimented on it's citizens without their knowledge or consent. You can not trust them, especially now that corporations have more say than the average person. They have been caught before. What might they have done or are doing, that we don't know about? The possibilities are staggering. I do not for one minute believe every conspiracy theory that comes down the pike. I also don't believe in myth. But, when it comes to our government, I could almost believe anything.

Again, I apologize for my shortness. There was no call for it. All I can say is that I had "kick the dog syndrome" and didn't kick the dog (she's too sweet).

instead of arguing about nano/bio-alteration, mutations, conspiricies, etc...we need to focus more on nailing down what this/these organisims are physically composed of. we can't figure out where its coming from till we know what the damn thing is. it is hard to debunk good old scientifically validated research if it the work can be reproduced by and verified by more than one source. this is only going to happen through a grassroots effort to fund such efforts. so put down the microscopes all you junior scientist, stop arguing about which researcher is right or wrong, put your thinking caps on and raise money to help fund the work. i don't care if you send money to wymore at osu, staninger, martin, clonogen labs, the MRF, the CEHF, whatever... but the answers are going to cost us . so lets get something productive done with the energy we are wasting arguing. peace.

Western Science isn't allowing evidence to be developed or it is all about Money. Either way, there is a problem with Morgellons and with this nanotechnology. What is Nanotechnology?

Nanotechnology is the process of manipulating matter at the molecular level - or nanoscale (one nanometer is approximately 1/100,000 of a human hair). The world's biggest companies, including Altria, Nestle, Kraft, Heinz and Unilever, say it's the next "industrial" revolution. Already more than 600 nanoproducts are on the market and sales were $50-88 billion in 2007. This includes everything from sunscreen and stain resistant clothing, to food, food packaging and dietary supplements.

Why do we care?

While the lure of stain resistant clothing might be tempting, this technological gold rush isn't being adequately evaluated or regulated. Companies are regulating themselves, and little research has been devoted to the health and environmental consequences of nanotechnology.

Because of their size and increased surface area, nanoparticles are more reactive and have higher toxicity than they do in their normal form. Also, substances that are stable in larger forms (such as aluminum) can also become reactive or explosive in nanoparticle form, creating the potential for a whole new set of health effects. Worst of all, because they are tiny, nanoparticles have the potential to pass through cell walls, and can bypass our blood-brain barrier and even the placental barrier from mother to baby.

What can we do?

Currently nanotechnology is unregulated. The Food and Drug Administration and the Environmental Protection Agency both admit that there are concerns with nanotechnology, but neither agency has the capacity or the ability to do much. The Senate is currently considering a bill, to reauthorize the 21st Century Nanotechnology Research and Development Act (S. 3274), and we're asking them to devote more funding to environmental, health and safety research. Contact your Senator now to ask them to put our health and environment before corporate profit:

Dr. Harvey is LYING!! He knows full well Morgellons is a NASA bio-weapon, and has NOTHING TO DO WITH LYME's disease. He is saying that to throw people off track....Morgellons was created by NASA secretly, 40 years in development and being intentionally spread now to the general public....the fibers are ELF receivers that respond to HAARP frequencies for future population control.
