Scott, perhaps you have not been paying attention but the bubble has popped. Several times actually. Pop! Gone- houses, 401(k)s, jobs, stock market, banks, cars (that are made in Canada anyway).

And many of us saw it coming and did what we could.

Do NOT equate the individuals you see on care2 with America as a whole, or certainly the government. Many of us are fully aware of all that you talk about.

Scott- I do read your messages. Not all of them but I frequently enjoy your chosen topics. ANd you are correct- it isn't over. My husband has a friend who predicted all this a year and a half ago. Interstingly, he name was NOT nostradamus.

Noted! Take a look at the first line on my profile page. I have been outside that "bubble" all of my adult life. Every single day, I try to do something to make things better for at least one person. I have never been into material things. As far as "social status" is concerned or a measure of wealth....I don't live in it, drive it or wear it. That is not my style. We can sit around and complain or we can take steps to correct what is wrong. I have said that his country has been on the wrong course for several years now. "We the people" have to turn it around because nobody else will do it for us.There is not a night that goes by that I don't think of the homeless, hungry, sick, ill, jobless,and all I can do is pray. When a chance to help some of these people, I seize the opportunity. I don't have a halo and I am certainly not pedistal material. What I do have is a heart that cares deeply for my fellow man regardless of religion, color or nationality.That includes all people from every part of the world.

Hi Scott, I just never realised that in America, there could be so many poor people. What happened to all the advancments in the economy? Of course as things stand at the moment, most countries are in a depressed state, but hey, we're talking about America! Come to India and then you'll see the true face of poverty, and yet most people do try to stash away a bit to hand it down to their kids.

Its strange,because the little family bubble,I sometimes lived in as a child,(when not at school,or playing out)seemed in some ways, to provide a semi insulatated,but inconsistent protection, from the mass media mirage.The mistrust of power,and the cantankerous response have always stayed with me..
I think,from that perspective,a person often finds disappointment,at the sheer numbers,who buy into crass beleif systems,easy preudices and narrow solutions.Because despite the mountain of evidence for global warming/climate change,despite the fact that the wealth gap has grown exponentially,and despite the fact that we have all been robbed blind,by the people who have set economies onto a path of destruction..despite all of this,the level of awareness and resistance is pitiful..at least in my own country.
I have detected murmers of rebellion,but it is thus far very very quiet,not proportionate to the tragi-comedy of human,and planetary disaster unfolding before our eyes.
The masses long ago had they're guts removed here,and at this rate it will take a long while,before they grope towards an alternative vision of life-(like the one which kickstarted the welfare state, after world war two)..Id love to see it..but its not happening yet..not here.Too many of the Murdoch fed masses,are too intent on directing ire towards immigrants,welfare recipients and others at the bottom,as opposed to the real robbers,polluters and wreckers,of the corporate,tax dodging world ,like tax evading Murdoch or airlines,who offer thrombosis,co2,and campaigns to prevent paying aviation tax ,or Walmart-Asda ..We are dumbed down,and as yet,people are still obliviously marching to the drumbeat of the people's enemies.

Nancy there are about 10 aliases that Scott uses...agrogreen,Chris S, Elizabeth Black, Probably Mike Tadesco,there is another Tadesco cant remember the initial, also Earthman, Marcy S is his wife I think ...and there are others ...almost too many to name. I dont mind talking or debating with Scott,,,but I hate not knowing if it is a real person or one of his aliases that I am debating with...seems creepy to me that someone has to use fake personalities to get his posts to front page or to pick on people who do not agree with his posts...
